@@SuperMDGOLD I'd guess the Xbox 360 would actually be the hardest to do so, because RGH is probably the most complicated. For the PS3 and the Wii you can do that by softmodding. For the PS3 it's actually the most useful, atleast when you consider legal purposes only, because you can bring back PS2 capability.

I suggest you test ALL the USB ports on the wii consoles. I bought a wii off goodwill awhile back and the USB ports were busted. Luckily, for me, I like repairing consoles and had a good time learning how to replace the USB ports in the back.

It makes me wonder, seeing those old playtime notes which I remember myself, if they knew it would be the last time they’d play it. Yes, they all donated the consoles, but there could have been years between the last play time and the time they decided to donate them. Before you know it, a year has passed and the console is just there in the place it always was, or in the box right where you left it

I’ll look into maybe including a clip here or there but honestly, the filming schedule just doesn’t really align with the cleaning schedule. 20:30 you may want to check what disk drive because if it’s the newer black Wii models replacement disk drive the older white Wii you installed it into won’t read GameCube games and that’s why most people buy Wiis now days.

Black Wii models can run GameCube games fine. The main difference between the two disc drives is that it's impossible to play burned discs.

I use to repair 360 disk drives , most of the time the belt would wear out. A cheap replacement are the small black rubber bands at dollar store in the hair care isle. They work perfect

I have modded probably about 10 wii's in my life time, and yea disc drive is unnecessary to mod anymore. It used to be you needed a certain Disc (I think there were only a handful of games that would work) which had the exploit in the save data to execute the code. But over time that was no longer necessary so all you really need these days to mod one is a sd card. Im not sure if you can exploit it with a usb drive or not. I think this is why people still buy broken wii's on ebay to this day. I have come across many wii's at thrift and yard sales, i usually buy them up if they are the right price no matter what. I have found that close to half of them have some sort of game still in them. It is definitely fun to see what might pop out. I think the most valuable one that popped out for me is the Wii Sports/Sports resort dual game disc. Not sure how much they go for now, but back then i think i sold it for like 70 bucks disc only (height of covid inflation of course). Sorry about the wall of text. I love the direction you have taken this Channel, keep it up

Jacob just to let you know for the future. If the warranty sticker is intact that doesn’t mean no one opened up the console. I’m careful with those stickers and I make it look like no one touched it when I open up the console to refurbish so that I can sell them later on.

its no even that. i got one with the flap still there and gently opened it and one of the little plastic hinges broke. they are incedibly fragile. alot of people just took them off because they got in the way of the cables and stuff too. you can bend the door sligtly and it wil come right out without breaking anything

I used to be a cop and women were pretty much throwing themselves at me. I still have my Wii from back then and the photo channel is FULL of crime scenes pictures and women. I've long since lost the SD card that I used to copy the photos and I can't bring myself to delete the pics. Can't copy them from the system, either. If anyone ever looks back to those years (2007-2010 mostly) they're gonna be in for a show!

My guess is that for a lot of people, it’s a parent giving away a console that the kid no longer plays. A lot of parents probably don’t know to reset it, and the kid probably forgot about the console or doesn’t even know it’s being given away

pro tip the 4gb ones are really bad. I went through 7 of them in 1 year back when the model was new because the best buy guy was like "HUR DURR COMES WITH KINECT SO IT GUD". I put an official xbox hard drive in it after the fifth time. Didn't help. On the 8th attempt I got one of the normal 250gbs and I still have it 11 years later. And still play on it.

At least, you should remove the old lithium grease on those DVD drive and put some new, put a new belt and clean the laser, this is the bare minimum in my opinion. If you have an ESR meter, you could measure the capacitors on the controller board, a LOT of those SMD caps are way out of specs.
