The Ryman Auditorium is known as the Mother Church of country music, and was the original home of the Grand Ole Opry until the new Opry House was built. It's still considered a prestigious stage to play on for country artists. It has approx. 2400 capacity, and was, in fact originally a tabernacle. To get a standing ovation in front of a packed house at the Ryman is high praise, and Home Free has done it many times. For them to bring Texas Hill along for the ride, is an incredible opportunity for this talented young trio. And IMO, this is one, if not the BEST live sound recording I've ever heard. Great duo reaction guys.

Yes, Adam and Chris Rupp are brothers. They founded Home Free along with friend Matt Atwood in 2000. The name "Home Free" comes from Matt's grandfather's boat. Chris left to pursue other interests in 2016 and was replaced by Adam Chance, who had been a friend for a few years and was singing bass for a cappella group Street Corner Symphony.

Matt's grandfather fronted some money for them, so they agreed to honor him by naming the group after his boat. Perfect isn't it?. & Street Corner Symphony (the group Chance was bass in) was also on the Sing Off. I THINK the season before Home Free. He wore a SCS t-shirt in "Try Everything", the 1st video with HF. 😉😊

@@momD612 I believe SCS were runner ups on season 2, Pentatonix won season 3, and two years after that Home Free won season 4. There was a year's break between seasons 3 and 4.

So all the guys on this stage has a top 3 placement in a televised talent show. Home Free of course won season 4 of the Sing-Off, except for Chance who was a runner up, as a bass, with Street Corner Symphony on season 2. Adam Wakefield on keys was the runner up on season 10 of The Voice, while Casey James, guitar, came third on American Idol season 9, and Craig Wayne Boyd won season 7 of The Voice. So yeah, just a normal bunch of folks that nurtured their talents well. I love these two groups together, the addition of the voices as well as the keys and the guitar (my two favourite instruments outside of the human voice) gives the sound such a perfect balance.

All 3 members of Texas Hill were finalists on the Voice or American Idol, as I understand it. They've got a new album out next week - and Tim's going to be joining them at their album release concert in Nashville. I totally agree with Patricia W below... and Chance seems to have a solo career too! Love Home Free.. and I love Texas Hill, too. This is fantastic live. I saw Home Free in Denver last November and Texas Hill was not there either. Yeah the guy in the white hat won the Voice, the keyboardist came in 3rd another year on the Voice and Casey James came in 3rd on American Idol (not sure the season). Pretty good pedigree with them but our boys voices are so dang good. Yes, Chris and Adam are brothers and founded Home Free. Chance, Austin and Tim all have solo stuff. Rob does a movie channel I think and don’t know about Adam. They are all so talented and what about this song?!! It’s amazing and should be on the radio. Good reactions you two! 😄

Guys, HF premiered this song on the Grand Ole Opry in 2019 as a tribute to all of the classic country icons who have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry over the decades, and the video captured clips of all those great artists. So, for HF it was always their dream to appear on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and for country musicians it is a pinnacle of their careers to have played at the Grand Ole Opry. The Grand Ole Opry welcomed HF as the first, and so far only A Capella band, with open arms and they have played there several times now. The Ryman was the home of the Grand Ole Opry from the twenties until the early seventies, when the Grand Ole Opry had a new facility built under their name.

Pre-covid Home Free played around 200 dates a year - with that schedule and playing everything from arenas to small county fairs you'd have to be able to reproduce your sound without the aid of tons of techno equipment.

All 3 of the guys in Texas Hill were one of the singing competitions. I know that the guitarist won. Not Casey James with the long curly blond hair. Adam Chance has a solo career as well. Chris Rupp is Adam's brother and they started the band in 2000.
