Utterly fascinating. That spruce is extremely interesting with grain tightness in centre flowing out to wider. I'm totally fascinated as to why. Incredible workmanship, not just here but all over. Of course this isn't an original Stainer violin but a copy. Originals are worth well over $100,000 US. However, during this "golden age" of violin building (1850 - 1920) in response to demand, there have been some very nice quality instruments that have resulted. Of course, there were some crappy ones that were produced as well. This one appears to me to be of good quality both in wood selection and craftsmanship.
