Nice piece for sure. What's that solid stem intake valve weigh - maybe 110 grams? What do you think a practical limit for RPM should be on this combo? With 160/460# on the springs I'd guess around 7600rpm. Probably gonna peak around 7000rpm with the hi-ram and modest camshaft it's got, so I bet that'll be about right, gives you enough past the peak for good shift recovery - unless it's a stick car!
@JacobVillemain2 жыл бұрын
I turn my engine which has the same heads 7,800 with 505# open.
@andrewcammer25352 жыл бұрын
@@JacobVillemain Nice. Always a trade off - I like the weight of a hollow stem valve, but to your point in the video, the solid stem has a durability advantage. We've got a hollow stem (same 2.165" diameter) in mine, 96 grams. We're comfortable taking that to 8000rpm with about 470# open. Target shift RPM is 7700, but it's a stick car, so a little margin for TCM (my hands and feet) failure is always a good thing. ;) Great content - looking forward to the dyno video. I bet that's gonna be a fun street motor with a nice curve, and still drive quite reasonably.
