Had 4 12in Memphis subs in my Tahoe when I was in highschool. Nothing like the early 2000s stereos rattling every interior panel looses lol. Just destroyed every clip holding that plastic together and ruining the value of the car but it sure was fun

For those who dont know, you dont hear this system, you feel it! Below 20hz things get windy. It's just wind, and an earthquake. But as you can see this dude layered everything in dynamat and still ripped his blazer apart. Now imagine 3 15s running 5K on each, but in a mostly stock dodge journey..

Wrong! Hearing doesn't suddenly stop below 20hz all that happens is that the spl needed to hear it rise. And yes i know because i have a setup that plays flat down to 14hz.

The sound waves don't enter the ear canal like high frequency does. It's more or less just pressure waves when the frequency is that low.

​@mikeobrien2977 ALL sound is pressure waves, sound is just the word we use instead of saying "pressure waves propagating through physical matter" I think what you mean to say is that low frequency sounds have a longer wavelength than high frequencies, and at extremely low frequencies the wave length is longer than the whole car so it's almost like there's no wave at all, just the air total pressure quickly increasing and decreasing inside the car. And these pressure fluctuations absolutely do pressurize and depressurize the air in the ear canal

That's not to say he won't damage his hearing, but if it was high frequency sound at the same decibel level, it would kill his hearing much much faster

High SPL, but tuned too low for me. I prefer 40 htz rear and 95 htz front tuned ports. Also, I prefer the sound of 18" and 12" to that of the 15". Workmanship could be better as well as tightening up everything in the vehicle. I was a 1st place car stereo installer back in my day and installed many systems.
