Hi, someone who plays the characters they like from comics and shows here, whenever I see people picking only dps I let out an audible sigh because I know if I pick anything other than Loki (my strategist main) then we’re either gonna have the longest uphill battle the universe has ever seen or we’re gonna flat out lose, quick play or comp. Team composition in this game is a key component that demands you take it into consideration, the only issue is this is a marvel game with fan favorites like Spider-Man, Venom, Wolverine, etc. People who are just casual players not going to play what’s smart if it means they can’t play their favorites. Or they’ll just play what’s easy like Scarlet witch for while team wipes in one ultimate that has no range indicator and just happens

Try Luna Snow or Cloak and Dagger what I love about them is their main attack when hitting enemies hurts but heals when striking allies. I think the biggest problem is many of the "cooler heroes" are in the Duelist section, with vanguard having a few popular picks, while strategists (despite how cool or known they may be) having the least picks overall.

Cloak & Dagger, specifically Dagger, is actually pretty good at taking care of the flying characters like Iron Man and Storm. Her shots auto lock-on, and because of the distance between you and the target, it's hard for them to 1v1 you.

I think it boils down to three things: 1. Quantity or rather lack there of. There are more duelists than there are tanks and supports combined. Meaning far more options to choose from. 2. Glory, most people (I think) want to be the player with the most kills and score that mvp slot. Yes, you did mention that Jeff kills more than iron man, but that's going to be counterintuitive to most people. 3. Dependancy. Any support main is going tell you one of the biggest pains of playing strategist is having some iron fist targeting you without your tank to protect you. You die, your tank has nobody healing them, causing them to die before you can respawn, and by the time you get there your tank is in the process of respawning causing the cycle to repeat. If you read this far you win a cookie. 🍪

I don’t think it’s that. There’s so much more you can do on the damage dealers as far as outplays and stuff. Tanks just run around and tank stuff healers just run around healing. Turn off automatic swing, if your controller good fucking luck mate no offense but ya need to be a god on the sticks, because to really use Spiderman well you need to be a movement god and that requires some precision with your swinging which is nearly impossible for casuals on controller considering that requires aiming precisely for swinging without aim assist cause your obv not aiming at players. I play pc so it’s much easier, but once’s you learn it man your such a pain, I’ll dive back line and kill healer basically on repeat every 5-8 seconds, cd of the pull…. It’s insane plus learn health pack spawns I probably hit like 50+ every game. Legit hit a health pack probably every 20 seconds, abuse your movement.

I play peni. Basically you want to set up her ability in a spot that’s easy to access the enemies. Her webs constantly heal when you step in em. Use her turret to summon a big web and set down ur mines. They will br invisible in the web. Stay within the web. Use her secondary fire to stun enemies or stand it in to heal. You can also use ur last ability if it misses and you can jump to it.

I'm gonna make this VERY clear that I am against role queue for this game. As long as there isn't hero duplicating, I'm fine with how they handled player choice. That being said, in ANY hero shooter, the damage class will ALWAYS have x10 the player base compared to tanks and supports. Most people just want to shoot and go fast, regardless of if they're good at it. The layers of mitigating damage and healing doesn't interest them. Just is how it is. Im a rocket racoon/magneto main, so I just got with the flow

As someone who plays Dr Strange and Jeff, nobody uses the portals when they lead to the payload, and everyone uses it when it leads to the void. Jeff does fine though, even though many maps don't have an immediately available hole to the void.

I'm still learning them, but I'm pretty sure the Cloak right click blocks literally everything in the entire game for your entire team, and nothing feels better than saving your entire team from a Jeff or Scarlet Witch ult. They get a bit much when you're tired though lol

I've never really played a hero shooter before, but with the auto lock, it makes both consistent heals and hitting squish enemies really nice. I've solo'd a hulk once. Granted, he was bad, but the constant tick is great. The lock on is great against iron Man and anyone else in the air. I've only tried tank maybe 3 times and failed every time, so I've kinda given up on that

I kept scrolling to see if any other Moon Knight mains existed (Thank you 🥲) I feel like the damage with Moon Knight is alright, nothing too high or low. I typically end up with double digits in kills as well as assists, though accuracy is very important for him to become a serious heavy hitter for dps. (I don’t really flank with Moon Knight, I always stay objective and try to protect our healer(s) and objective. The other dps and tanks run in to try and prevent the majority of their team from pushing site.)

The reason I flank is because I use him as crowd control, and if I place my ankh on their sight, it blocks a path for them before then shoot it out, and that time before they shoot it out, it is easy to do tons of dmg to get them low enough for your team to wipe them off. But in casual, I really think it’s unfair to flame someone who probably only has an hour or so to play a day for just wanting to run some games on the character they like. PS… I thought they introduced role queue because of that really awful team comp with 3 tanks 3 support around that time that nobody liked playing that was popular at the time.

A lot of people probably don't have fun when they're fighting against a specific character, but that doesn't mean they should tell the person to stop playing that character. As long as you're 1. Respectful and 2. Not breaking any of the rules, you can and should play however you want, and not worry about what other people will think of you. If you're worried about how strangers on your team will act, find yourself a group of like minded friends and play together instead. It's not my job to make sure you're having fun. It's my job to make sure I'm having fun, and to not be a dick to other people, that's it. You have the same prerogative, and if your play style made me stop having fun, I'd stop playing the game before telling you what to do.

You would expect your team to be somewhat coherent, either by the game enforcing it, or just by the community enforcing it. Obviously you can't expect it to be PERFECT, but at least somewhat coherent. You wouldn't however expect to never ever face up against certain characters. There's nothing inherent in the game's design that would indicate otherwise, unlike team comp. I think this idea of "I'll just play how I want, screw everyone else, it's not my job to ensure they have fun" is not healthy at all. And it won't work in the long-run. And it sort of, in a way, breaks your first rule of "be respectful". A large part of respect is to not bring others down. You might bring your whole team down by refusing to compensate or fill certain roles. Might technically be your prerogative, but not particularly respectful. A gateway to ensure you're having fun, is to ensure others are having fun. Being selfish and only focusing on yourself having fun, might end up causing you to not have fun because everyone else does the same.

If someone is throwing and causing you and your buddies to lose or not have fun I'm gonna tell you the same thing he did, learn the character in the range and bot mode before hopping in and affecting someone else's fun. Don't encourage people to mess with everyone else's fun because "being nice". It's okay to be nice and tell someone hey you aren't ready for that character yet maybe try this to help feel the team role and if you don't wanna do it we will ensure we don't play with you anymore ect bc it's a TEAM game not a solo game. God forbid I just wanna hop on and have fun treating the game casually, or learn new characters that I'm not immediately great at playing. Nah, everyone's gotta treat it like a job. I haven't played Rivals yet, but I used to main support on overwatch and did my damnest to contribute. In my experience, as long as the team knows the old art of "having patience and not attack a full team on your own", you can set up some dirty plays with a 5 duelist with 1 strategist (this last one just so your team doesn't have to wander the map for medkits). Burst damage the encounter before the tank can do anything to be useful. A tactic that I HATED in Paladins Champions of the realm, but it is also useful here.
