You're welcome! I agree, this is an all-around wonderful ink. 😀

I know you love your finer nibs, but just be careful because as other comments suggest it can clog the feed, and a good cleaning is needed after each use. I like the color of the ink, and have purchased it, but am hesitant because of the clogging issue, even though I prefer broader nibs.

I love Emerald of Chicken but I've given up using it in fountain pens because it ends up blocking the feed. On the way to doing that it looks like all the other teals out there. In a dip pen it's a whole nother story. Only there do you get the full circus of sheen (red) and shimmer (gold) on top of the teal base colour. It's great for calligraphy.

I'm concerned about the feed being blocked. Does that happen if you use the pen daily? flush after every ink refill? does it depend on your nib size?

I've always been intrigued by this ink, but because it's a "shimmer" ink, I've been avoiding it!

Nice review. I went on the same journey with the two Herbin inks and prefer this one for colour. I tend to let the glitter settle at the base of the bottle and use it without. Your kaweco broad looks so good and satisfying to use I’m tempted . Thank you.

Nice review. I bought a sample of Emerald of Chivor and I’m using it in a Kaweco Sport with a B nib. I like it very much but I can’t see the shimmering without a magnifying glass. I may need more training appreciating inks. I have used fp for years but with a limited and conservative range of colors. Only recently I have tried to know more inks.

this was, for the longest time, my favorite ink. It is a little bit poorly behaved with all that particulate but in terms of pure visuals (not practicality, permanence, or performance) it is one of my favorite. J Herbin Kyanite du Nepal recently displaced this as my favorite. I really also have to through in my honorable mention: Robert Oster Sparkling Cranberry a gorgeous cherry red with a silver (slightly steel blue) shimmer. Also emerald of chivor always makes me think of Christmas. The red sheen, green ink, gold shimmer combo means I have been using the ink for Christmas purposes for quite some time and I really have come to associate seeing the ink with Christmastime lol

I wonder if the shimmering inks from Robert Oster works better in fountain pens? I've had quite a lot of trouble with Emeralds of Chivor. Have to fix cloggin every day so far.

Lovely and saturated color. The stub performed so well here. It would be difficult to clean though if used in piston or vaccum fillers.

1. Interesting that this is such a saturated ink. The one Herbin ink I have is Gris Nuage, a grey that is exceptionally watery and light, which I happen to find useful. I asked Goulet for their lightest grey ink, and I like it. Quite useless for writing imo. 2. My Kaweco Sport (BB) is superb in reverse writing, what I called EF, actually. What a great pen for the money.

Hey, give the ink bottle a gentle shake so you don't get air bubbles. It looks so different when you shake it a little.

That's good to know. Thanks for the tip Brandon. 😀

I love this ink however who ever named this dropped the ball or something cause this might be the deepest blue emerald I've ever seen

I was wondering if you any issues with this ink clogging up your pens.

I have had quite a lot of trouble with it cloggin up my TWSBI diamond 580 with a broad nib. It's so pretty though cause you can see the gold shimmer come trough quite a lot! So beautiful!

I noticed it worked much better with my lamy all star medium nib. So not sure if there may be an issue with my TWSBI. But the flow is great in the lany and it didn't need any tinkering today. This is my second fountain pen so I' a bit of a newbie ^-^

Ferris Wheel Press Edward's Gardens is similar to Emeraude de Chivor, but more blue where Chivor seems more green. Both are my favourites inks so far. 😇🩷🙏🙌

I don't use shimmer ink very often and the only bottle of shimmer ink I have in my collection is Jacque Herbin Vert Atlantide. However, rewatching this video makes me want to ink up a pen with Emerald of Chivor again. 😀

I get that! I have it in my Nahvalur with stub nib and it's beautiful. 🥰 Don't think I've seen any red sheen yet but that could be due to the paper.
