Observation to discover what polarity can do is essential to get a way to have a clearer mix as possible with all elements playing evidently in its space and dynamics. That's a good advice!

Crazy, wouldn’t have thought of this, but it makes sense. Looking forward to trying it out!

Well it should be noted that ,and I don't hear him talk about this, but it is kind of obvious, when you talk about cycles like everyone likes to do the speaker will obvjously go in & out 50 times at 50 cycles or 50Hz, which leave much less deffiniton oppossed to lets say the 4Khz which goes in & out 4000 times per second...That is probably imo also why I don't really care for phase shifting at those mid to high frequencies if the sound adds a special thing to the mix.

When u flip the polarity the bass loss punch
@nrgskillmedia8 ай бұрын
He missed to clarify one thing: you don't change the polarity because it sounds better, you instead try to see if it sounds better. That's because the original material (bass and kick waves) may or may not be cancelling each other. If they do, then it's better to invert the polarity.

He didn't miss anything buddy, you just need attention.👍🏻

So you're telling, that you can do a blind A\B test of SOLOED basses and guess which is in its normal phase, and which one was inverted?
@CoopMusic2478 ай бұрын
That's what he was saying, but that's not the case. It has to be done together.
@pavelbogatyrenko43318 ай бұрын
@@CoopMusic247 no, that’s the case! How can we move forward after such a statement?!
@CoopMusic2478 ай бұрын
@@pavelbogatyrenko4331 I think you misunderstood me. What he said about hearing the difference of the polarity in solo is not the case. In other words thats not what is actually audible. But of course if two recordings are out of phase thats definitely gonna be a case where the bass would change.
@pavelbogatyrenko43318 ай бұрын
@@CoopMusic247 I totally agree. But the first part of his narration is based on the statement, that you can actually hear the difference on the soloed channel. And it works like an EQ! Listen to him at 1:07. And think of the aspiring sound engineers, that will listen to it and believe that it works like that!
@CoopMusic2478 ай бұрын
@@pavelbogatyrenko4331 I think it's important for people to listen to this kind of stuff and then learn that their heroes are often wrong and disagree even more often. Instead you gotta learn and move on.

Flipping was good
@mpelevic8 ай бұрын
This only makes sense if you deal with a sample or a loop. Relation between kick and the bass played live ocilates in milliseconds between notes and bars because we’re human. Those milliseconds diminish your effort to put those two in phase throughout the song. Separately yes, if signal chain is wired to push speaker cone backwards first, you can flip that. Relation between instruments played by hand cannot be phase aligned.
