As an avid cricket fan for 32 years now, I can confirm that this match was the most electrifying match among all Indian matches in 1990s. One can say that ‘Desert Storm’ was the best match but believe me this match united whole India and the country celebrated it like a festival. Jadeja fielded too like a tiger in second innings.

Waqar was lethal at that Era !!.... But the mistake he did... was that.. He tried to bowl faster and faster to Jadeja..... Jadeja utilized the pace very well.... Same thing which Haris Rauf tried against Great Kohli at Melbourne during T20 WC 2022.... Sir Wasim Akram always remained more successful than Waqar... Just because Wasim Sir used his variations brilliantly rather than always trying to bowl fast....

Waqar was playing in this one because Wasim Could not. Aquib Javed bowled better than every body in this world cup and most of them were crucial spells. Waqar's economy rate was a concern till he started bowling on both sides of the wicket convincingly.
