Don’t worry, I am not one of stupid fans that wanted Jaden Ivey traded. They don’t have the eye test or know the context of the Pistons situation. Ivey has so much talent and is the second star next to Cade Cunningham. It’s worth being a fan even when the team struggles or takes steps to be better. I’m happy to see the process and pieces coming together.

I had Ivey ranked 2nd in The draft behind Banch. Cher had an astrix due to injury risk. I wouldn't have been angry about picking Javari over Ivey because I'm a defense first fan.

You nailed it!!.......I have never wavered! Jayden Ivey is special, a keeper, a great basketball player, and he and Cade have arrived!! The kid is only 22 and will only get better! His work ethic, improved play, clutch gene (two game winners), belief in self, etc. He is the goods. One more year and they will be top 3 best backcourt in the NBA.

@@chrischarles4110 Yeah, I appreciate Ivey’s talent and hard work that is showing. I am also applauding the organization for sitting him instead of playing through knee pain so he could get back right and play at a high level. The faith stuff is always funny to me because on one side I appreciate gratitude for being blessed with an opportunity and at the same time I think there is a distinguishment between what we do out of our reflection of God vs God making sure you have good basketball games, 😅 like I’m pretty sure Jesus isn’t pausing from global warming and being like “oh shoot, what time do the Pistons play again?” 🤣

You broke it down like a shot gun boom, boom. boom. They don’t know anything about Adrian Dantley and the Micro Wave colliding heads while dive for a loose ball. It put them out of the game when they had Boston on the ropes. We were suppose to beat them that year but that incident completely changed the momentum. They don’t know anything about Zeke throwing an errand pass under the Celtics basket which Bird intercepted and pass the ball to D.J for a lay up and series winner when the Pistons had the game won. These are growing pains that everyone must experience regardless of your profession. It is these growing pains that build character, mental toughness, and intestinal fortitude. If you can see it or understand it, it is a testimony that you don’t have it. Rock on brother and ignore those fair weather fans that have a backbone of a jellyfish. 48-year-old here. I'm from the Bird steals the ball and passes off to DJ era. CRUSHED. Cities like Detroit, that are not destination cities, you GOTTA go the homegrown route. Maybe pick up a few odds and ends from another market, but you gotta be patient. Folks want to trade for so-called stars instead nurturing the talent that's already here. Let them build a culture and ride or die together mentality.

@pheralanpathfinder4897 I get it, but you make those moves when you're on the cusp of another level. Rip Hamilton was a pleasant surprise, but the signing of Sheed is what kicked it up a notch. From the Bing days. Our starting unit makes no sense - specifically THJ being part of it. Looking at 2 man unit data, Duren - Hardaway is minus 12 net rating. Hardaway is very negative with each pairing from the starting unit, the minus 12 with Duren being the worst. Duren has played 700 minutes - 500 of those with THJ in, who is our worst defender. THJ, also is one of our worst in terms of PER, at 9. Duren has a 17 PER, he is not the problem. We have two players, Holland and Thompson, with low PER's, but who play defense well. Besides THJ, Fontecchio should quit playing, a PER of 10, no defense. People pick on Harris - but his 13 PER is not that bad, while his net ratings from two man pairings look fine - if you filter out the minutes where THJ is also out there. Harris and THJ have over 600 minutes together, by the way - at a net rating of minus 9. Look at Harris - Duren - minus 4.5 net rating in 543 minutes. But, filtering out the time where THJ is also out there with them, Harris - Duren is well positive. (apologies, this requires some math - Duren - Harris must be well positive, when playing without THJ, since the THJ - Harris pairing is minus 9, covering the great majority of Harris' minutes, while THJ - Duren is minus 12, covering the great majority of Duren's minutes. Harris has 900 minutes total this season.)

@@LeeSohlden I have been a resounding no for THJ since the trade. Quentin Grimes does so much more as a utility guard like Donte DiVencenzo, they defend, rebound, play-make, facilitate, competitive, high IQ, physical junk yard dog types. This team would have won at least 2-3 more games had he been there instead of THJ adding those elements to this roster.

@@pheralanpathfinder4897 Grimes and Wiseman were certainly missteps. A healthy Wiseman instead of Paul Reed would be huge and Grimes instead of THJ would have equaled at least 2-3 more wins in those close games where you needed far more than a shooter.
