I sure you have probably already read this series but if not you are in for a treat. The Thickety is a horror fantasy children’s fiction book series, written by American author J. A. White. The first book, A Path Begins, was published on May 6, 2014. The second book, The Whispering Trees, was published March 10, 2015. The third book, Well of Witches, was published on February 23, 2016. Two of my favorite middle grade books that I've read recently (honestly, two of my favorite books of any age category lately) were The Crowfield Curse and The Crowfield Demon by Pat Walsh. They aren't new books, and a third and final book seems to have never been completed, although the author still maintains it will be eventually. I'd adore if the third book gets written, however, both of these books have a satisfying ending and though there are threads of the story that could continue on, nothing that bothered me or felt unfinished.

The House with Chicken Legs I gave 3 stars to because I was sick of hearing about baba yaga after a while, but The Girl Who Speaks Bear I gave 5 stars to and I want the hardback of it. One of my all-time faves! Nevermoor I gave 1 star to but I know that's because of the audiobook (the narrator used a horrible voice for one of the characters and every time he would have to say something, I would cringe and couldn't handle it). Potkin and Stubbs I really wanna find so I hope I will be able to one day. I know it's not sold in Canada. Or, at least not where I shop for my books. I want the "Perfect" books. I'm gonna try to buy them in my next Amazon haul at the end of the year. A Pinch of Magic, I have the first 2 books and plan to follow along with the audiobooks. I'm almost positive I have one audiobook but not the rest, so this will come very soon. Since I have my set TBR until some time in June next year already, I may just get to these in July if I remember to do so by then. I actually wanna read everything else in this video. Hopefully next year it will happen. "I'm a fan of middle grade and I look forward to finding more fantastic ones" I feel the same! One day I'll try to post my favorites so far. I've only been reading middle grade since maybe early 2020. I started with classics but hated them and didn't really want to go back to adult books so I found other middle grades and fell in love with the stories. I'm glad I found the genre. It's the best!

I will be reading Nevermoor next month! Ok I haven't read anything by Helena Duggan... Will check it out! A Pinch of Magic will be read this year xD

The perfect series on kindle is currently on offer so can get the complete set for £2.94. Just a share if people are struggling at the moment and seems like a brilliant offer. I really want to read Polar Bear Explore's Club, and I nearly ordered Pinch of Magic in a set with Thirteen Series yesterday but figured maybe have to wait a little bit first, considering have just order the whole of the Spellslinger Series and VE Schwab Darker Shade of Magic series.

I love this video!! Thank you for making it! I knew about some of these because I do watch your videos but the other day I was looking to try some middle grade books and for the life of me could not remember which ones you had really enjoyed. I’m glad to have this video to refer back to when I am in search of books! I haven’t read any of these or hardly any middle grade for that matter but one I have read is The Crowns of Croswald. I am not sure if you would like it but to me it was very whimsical and I loved it!

I’ve only read a few of these and really enjoyed them! I need to pick up the rest soon. Have you tried Suzanne Collins Underland Chronicles? They’re a bit older of middle grade release (early 2000’s). I really enjoyed them when I read them a few years ago and have been really wanting to do a reread. They are full of adventure, high stakes, real danger for our characters, heart wrenching and heart warming throughout. With humans and talking animals working together. I connected with these characters immediately and was wholly invested in them for the entire series. It left me with all of the feels and it still sticks with me to this day.

I want to read this entire list! I mean, I could probably go for all of them right now. Sadly my online library has exactly zero of them. Ok they have the schwab book but there’s a wait list, also I read the first book and half of her other series and dnf’d them....so I need some more convincing to try her again. I miss my physical library so so much. 🥺 not that their selection was that great but you could inter library loan just about anything.
