Yo Jae Lee is a unsung hero of a artist, I recently learned about him after seeing his Art In New 52's Batman and Superman trade paperback, and I love his Art style. I wish Mike Mignola would get him to do a Hellboy series, cause I would love HB in Jae Lee style!!!

They sell "specialized" ones but really, any good card-stock will work. What causes smears and accidents the most is accidentally rubbing your hand over your work, which is why he started from the left and moved right. So almost any mat will work at keeping your hand from touching the material you're working on. This prevents your skin, which absorbs and transfers anything, from touching the ink, and it prevents the oils from your skin from getting onto your work space. I never use anything special. Just thick paper that will stay under my hand and let me know through touch when my hand has left the safety of the smear mat.

Zuhayeer Iqbal You can't say that Jim is "better." Jim and Jae have different styles, and you really can't say who is a better artist. I personally like both of their individual styles. You can have an opinion, but don't state that one artist is better.

@@sammiller4181 actually, his opinion is that Jim Lee is "better." And while you can't say he is, or he isn't, it's just his opinions, and his opinion is just how he feels. I can feel Todd McFarlane is "the best." But it doesn't make a difference. It's just my personal opinion.
