I have been listening to the Hawks for over 50 years now. So very special and wonderful memories evoked. When my son was around 10 he and a friend belonged to a local Cubs Pack. I always collected them and would drive them home to Lighthouse blaring out at top volume. Sunday paper rounds were assisted by Masters of the Universe and Brainstorm....happy days educating the children.

I've not stopped listening to this band for 58 years & want In Search Of Space playing on my deathbed. My introduction to Hawkwind was at 14 in 1972 on weed for the 1st time. I still remember thinking "This is the music I've always wanted to hear". The next week I was given acid & 'In Search Of Space' was all I listened to, on headphones, all night over & over. I read the logbook that night & never looked back. Hawkwind changed my life. God bless all their friends & Relations too!~

1st time seeing this lot for me was Hull City Hall on the Earth Ritual tour. Changed my life. Listened to The Friday Rock Show & Tommy Vance played Night Of The Hawks when it was released. Went & bought it the next day on 12" & saw them live a couple of months later. Boooommm!!!!!!

Thanks for uploading ;) I've been trying to get this again for years, I bought the original VHS direct from DB via his P. O. Box in 1989, as did many others, superb clips on this and some of Hawkwind's finest moments I think, favourite bits are Choose Your Masques with all the tellies on stage in 1982, and the two last tracks at the end of this selection from 1981 Silver Machine and Master of the Universe, scroll to about 1:52:17 for an excellent Hawkwind showcase.

That 1981 version of Silver Machine crops up a lot, but I've never seen the video before. What venue is it from?

Could the daytime festival footage from 56.50 have been at the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) festival at Cricket St Thomas? I remember them having a black drummer at the time and the stages and layout of the site seems how I remember it. 4th June 1984, if so and I have a tape somewhere.

where do these originate from? i know the 1982 was direct from DB
@rp61productions8 жыл бұрын
+paul smith They ALL originate from Dave Brock, I purchased my copy years ago (vhs years) direct from the man himself. Still got the A4 envelope it was sent in as it's my name and address with DB's handwriting :-D What you see here is that copy which I transferred to DVD and shared on Demonoid some years back...

This version of Silver machine seems to end up on all the low budget 'Best of Hawkwind' CDs you get at petrol stations and the like. I guess some obscure band member owns the credits or something. Is it Dave Anderson? Also, where is Dibs?
