I don't see how it could be real but also looking at it I don't see how it could be a gimmick either. It looks 100% authentic and he also slides his hand up and down like a real cue stick. Furthermore he normally does this only a few feet away from the audience. I could see a collapsible stick looking good on a stage, sure. But one that still looks convincing from 5-10 feet away? That's pretty damn impressive. Although that kind of seems to be the theme with the comments on this one. Knowing how it's done can be arguably more impressive than than the illusion itself.

I disagree with Penn there. I think that knowing how it's done doesn't make it as impressive, it makes it way more impressive. Honestly much like P&T do with cups and balls, you could make one that shows what's going on under the hood and be just as entertaining if not more.

This is one of my favorite kinds of tricks. I personally really like to know how tricks are done, some amazing effects are achieved through methods that feel cheap. This effect is far from cheap, even if you know how it's done it's so smooth that it still doesn't quite feel real. Absolutely lovely execution.

it's a well done sleight of hand trick, but his execution was off during a couple of the parts, and you can see things moving if you know where to look. I was able to catch some of the moments of loading and knew where things were being concealed. I assumed the board and balls were magnetic so that the ball could essentially roll down the board from 1 hand to the other, around the board, etc. However, if I understood Penn's comments correctly, I was wrong and it's much harder to do than what I realized and rather mind blowing that it looks so effortless. I would be dropping balls all over the place lol.
@jacobpaint
@jacobpaint Жыл бұрын
It would seem that there are limited ways to conceal that many balls so it was unlikely to ever fool them but it was well done. I could probably rewatch it and guess at a few moves based on physics and hand positions but overall the dexterity to shift those balls around like that is not something your average person can calculate intuitively. You're probably doing some things I wouldn't think possible based on my own dexterity.
