I was furious with the way they introduced a new character, began a tangential plot line, then canceled the show and pulled together a hasty ending. A series as good as it was deserved a season to end it properly. The cast, production team, writers and fans deserved better.

I positively loved the show, the entire time it was on. I counted down the days, then hours to each showing! I don’t follow Hollywood chatter so had no idea that I was watching the end of the series when it aired. Watching this, I can clearly feel how it affects me now, just as it did then. I have a heart condition that lets me know clearly when I am upset. How many years has it been since then? Time to get the nitroglycerin!

I keep watching this over and over. I really love it, I am so glad they finally ended up together. Harm and Mac were both so cute in this scene. I loved the way they both kept looking at each other, with so much loved. I also loved that they both couldn't keep their hands off of each other. Like at 1:30, it looks like she rubs his thigh. It is too cute. Then how he put his arms around her at the end, and she touched his hand. Then that cute hug and how he is hold her at the end. My shipping heart was happy with this end. I do though wish we could have seen, what happened. I think though that Mac, is the one that had to resign. She always lost the coin tosses. I so wish, they would do a tv movie or something. I would love that. Maybe one day.

@@grunnyg6693 They were also in a couple of episodes in season12......What I found surprising and didn't fit with the time line is that after 15 years since JAG ended, Rabb was still only a Captain and Mac was still only a Colonel....You would have thought that Mac would beat least a 1 or 2 star General and Rabb a 1 or 2 star Admiral in the intervening years.........It seems that after Jag finished, so did their steady climb up the promotions board....Rabb went from LT to Captain in the course of 10 years of JAG then nothing for 15 years...Doesn't run true

Why didn't they made a another episode of the final season with Harm & Mac wedding day. It would've been perfect for it, where we see the cast member's being there. And for us fans seeing the long, long time relationship between Captain Rabb & Lt. Colonel Mackenzie finally tying the knot. It would've been a beautiful military wedding. Then during the reception before they cut the cake, that's when they'll have the coin toss. While the coin is the air, everyone 1 looking at, 3:24 that's when the coin side showing "JAG" symbol it show's the year of the show started & ended.

wildmann23 money. all of that consists of a change of set. wardrobe crap. it was all about money anyways. dJE was leaving the show, and they made the entire season to prepare for a spinoff with colonel mackenzie but it didn't work out so they catherine bell and DJE got them to change the ending of the final script. it was supposed to be a one night stand with the two characters with no mentioning of marriage. None of It made sense. they should've let them get together at the end of season nine, and had them together for season 10. and then they could've killed off DJE's character.

The only episode Harm was on NCIS, was the first episode where NCIS came into the picture. The Admiral was on one episode of NCIS. Bud has been on two episodes of NCIS, one episode he almost let it slip the results of the coin flip between Harm and Mac.

The flip actually ended up as tails and Harm did resign his commission but he then became the XO of the aircraft carrier USS Allegiance and is in line to get his own ship and becoming an Admiral. How I know all this I won't tell entirely. All I'll say is watch NCIS: LA and find out for yourselves!

Dana says- Came across this today and it was like seeing an old dear friend after many years apart. I shipped Mac and Harm more than any other TV couple for the longest time (eventually Kate & Castle from Castle tied them). I always thought it was great that Bud and Harriet already knew that Mac and Harm were engaged when they showed up at McMurphy's. I would have loved to see Harm and Mac telling them the news on screen (either in person or via phone), but at least the writers/Bellisaro honored their close friendship by having them know before anyone else from JAG.

Never got to see this final episode until almost 10 years later! As a former Naval Officer, I would say it would be easier for Harm to resign his commission, go to San Diego with Mac and keep flying in the reserves or stay associated with the Navy in some other useful way. In London, Mac would literally have nothing to do professionally.

Here's a stupid thought I had during the coin toss. When the coin stopped in mid-air, it was tails, which I would think to mean that Mac won the bet, Harm resigned and they moved to San Diego. Anyone else come up with that? I think it was the show's way of telling us who won and who resigned.

That’s a great theory. I think the writers or whatever wanted the fans of the show to imagine it. You know make the ending themselves, who won the toss. Lol. In my mind when I first watched it, I imagined Mac lost the coin toss. She always lost them. Also I think cause she wasn’t in her uniform either. Makes me think she lost. Earlier in the season when she got into the car accident, she had a flashback & when she was talking to the therapist. She said something about Harriet being a full time mom & stuff. She sounded like she wanted that too. I think she would’ve resigned to be with him & raise their kids. You’re theory is good too. If he did resign & they moved to San Diego, he would be close to his mom & Frank. Then they could raise their family, near his family. Either way I like that ended up together. I heard though they were mentioned on an episode of NCIS. Bud was on there & Gibbs asked how Harm & Mac were doing? Bud was started to say that Harm & Mac & the they got interrupted.

@mcximus Yes, but what many people don't realize is that JAG was originally an NBC show in the '95-'96 season. It finished 77th in ratings and was cancelled after the first season, which ended with Harm getting arrested for murder. CBS bought the rights to the show, and brought it back as a mid-season replacement in the '96-'97 season, and successfully ran it for nine more seasons, eventually spinning NCIS off of it.

@@dallasyap3064 Harm and Mac's respective careers basically got in the way. That was the work of Shane Brennan and Scott Gimmell. Those two geniuses thought it would be a good idea to make Harmon Rabb and Sarah MacKenzie remain single. We all got the rug pulled out from under us, the pie in the face, the bicycle horn in the ear, the underwear over our heads, a hollered "Kiss our asses" and the big middle finger from Brennan and Gimmell. The only saving grace is that on the JAG fanfiction websites, Harm and Mac did get hitched and raised a family. I'm guessing that it's the attitude of the current crop of showrunners that marriage and romance is bullshit, and it's all about hooking up for the night and "wham bam thank you ma'am". You can count on the fingers of one hand with some fingers missing how many shows are out there that depict marriage and families in a positive light; there are plenty of shows out there where kids are raised by a single parent. That is just one man's opinion, mine. And there you have it. Yeah, I was disappointed in how Harm and Mac's relationship turned out. It really sucked ass.

The perfect ending. For people who need things wrapped in a bow and need closer, it might not. However in a T.V. show we can make our own ending, not to have it written for us. In reality endings aren't written, life happens good or bad. In this last episode WE get to choose ! Too bad life is not written for us, but if it was what would life be worth living if we knew the ending ?

+Thomas Koehn I so disagree with this, this is not a perfect ending. The perfect ending would be to see if Harm gives up being in the Navy or if Mac gives up being a Marine because in the series finale they both realized that they had to decide who would give up their career be it navy or marine and that never happened. They could have shown us who chose to give up a career in the military and I and a lot of people wanted it written and shown what happened shown who again gave up being in the navy or the marines because again Harm and Mac both agreed that a choice on who gives up either being in the Navy or the Marines to be together and they could have shown that but they never did. So we have a vague ending here in my opinion, another thing the series should have ended with Harm and Mac's wedding. They also did a movie for the show Walker Texas Ranger some time after the series ended, they could have done the same for Jag have a movie some time after the series ended to see what everyone has been up to in jag after the series ended

because for one damn good reason they where both commissioned officers with meg being a subordinate of harm and if you would have followed the show you would know its against the military code of justice for a superior officer to have personal relations with a subordinate officer or enlisted. this is across the world. offcourse its also a great way to keep people watching the show so long as the tension and excitement of the possibilities are in it. its why this only happend at the end of the show. just like the ncis tony and ziva dynamic kept a lot of people wachting that show.

I heard that there might be a spinoff from NCIS San Diego with the Two of them...Fingers Crossed..From what i also heard that Ratings were high during the NCIS LA where they did there twl parts in where we found out that they didnt wind up together ..maybe after 9 yrs.hell finally put them together where they belong..for the fans..Been WAY TO LONG!!!!

The series finale of JAG should've had Harm & Mac getting married after all that he had been through since he heard his father was shot down and presumed dead until he found out that he survived and was held as a P.O.W. until he escaped and then later on was killed defending a Russian woman he was living with.

yeah i always thought it was strange that Harm was in full dress uniform and Mac shows up in Civilian clothes. seems like she'd show up in military dress too. It was like they were telegraphing who actually won the toss but could deny it later.
