Jagex needs to realise that the majority of their playerbase are people like me who have already had their fill and could quite happily walk away from the game and never come back. The survey did exactly what they hoped it would, it showed them where the line is. A lot of that stuff is coming, just in a mildly dialled back form to what was originally surveyed so for example now when they put ads into f2p they can say "What? You said you didn't want ads if you were paying?". It's an extremely common tactic employed by companies (and governments): we tell you that you're getting 10 piles of garbage, then pull back when you seem outraged so that when we give you 6 piles of garbage you think "that's not as bad as 10 piles of garbage".

Rs3 spams mtx ads and is full on pay to win to the core, it all started small, now theyre adding new p2w bs weekly. it's not Jagex, it is the new owner. There is no Jagex there atm, there is a company who bought assets and don't have any clue on how to deal with it. Do expect total maintenance mod as well as long as they keep the asset. From that backlash they loss already a massive amount of their initial investment. They'll have at least 100M of asset value to compensate and it will be compoensated on that asset, meaning full maintenance mod with continuation of service while prospecting a buyer.

I work in a bigger company than Jaggex(we have multiple subsidiaries), we bow down and HARD to the big firm above us to the point of we are part of it before being us. For us it happens because we have crazy objectives that keep us on our tows and because there are inside people from the mother companies who do whatever they want and break people arbitrarily if they choose so. When they release crappy surveys like that, they don't have any identity anymore, their dissolved. What remains is the intellectual assets and what they'll do with it, all what made the company before is done and dusted, mod Pip or whatever he is, is just a face who pleases investors. Ehhh, I'm worried that this won't really matter in the long run. It'll deter the investors for a minute, but soon enough they'll be forcing the product managers and the economics readers to figure other ways to push the game towards the path of despair. Your previous message was a godsend of an answer for me. To put this in proper frame, I had been away from Runescape for years (9+ years). I had recovered my account at one point in the last 10 years to see what was going on, and this was my 2nd attempt at returning. One thing that had majorly crippled my F2P gameplay was a ridiculous constriction on my bank. My account was so overloaded that I would have needed multiple bank expansions & was considering getting a paid membership to explore the changes. When I first saw the cost, compared to where it was when I played last I realized that Jagex and I were on two different pages entirely as to what I felt it was worth to get premium content. With your previous video, I realize this is true on another level entirely. At this point, I fully understand that Jagex will never have the ability to conceive their value (the value they had to me). It is as if they were squeezing the lifeblood out of the few tat continued to care enough to bleed out & made the decision to double down because a few survived . . . that's the point where I checked back to see if I was going to give it another go & realize they not only want to double down again, but are considering devaluing their product, reconsidering the business model that gave them success & want to schlep off "protecting you" as something that should be purchased. I feel like I was exploring the neighborhood of a place I where I was considering to move . . . only to watch the mob walk into a local business & ask the owner to buy health insurance for their kneecaps. This is not the neighborhood I want to consider. With all sincerity, I thank you. There were far more honest answers that I got in that video (and this one as well) . . . answers to questions I should have been asking.

I’ve already walked away from this game before, I can do it again. Everyone I know walked away with the removal of free trade and the few that stuck around didn’t stay after EOC. I would really rather not though. Most importantly, I differentiate from Mods like Ash that genuinely care and have an unbelievable passion for us and the game, and CVC stooges pushing the corporate agenda. Something I believe more people should consider during times like this.

It really feels like this was designed as "How can we push MTX on Old School" with zero consideration to RS3. A lot of the stuff polled was either projects already confirmed for Old School (Private servers, which is what Project Zanaris is), or stuff that RS3 already has (VIP worlds, total level toggle, display modifications like titles). With their apology letters really hammering home Old School's experience, omitting key points in the RS3 letter that Old School included, and even their first apology letter saying the "OSRS Community" rather than "Runescape Community", this really feels like they're actually apologizing to Old School players and don't give a damn about RS3. And even then their apologies sound hollow.

I think it's about time they re-introduce the poll system if they're truly considering community feedback in any meaningful manner. Open up community tab in-game where poll used to be, and just be plain and ask us "would you like to see Ads in RS3/OSRS in any capacity?" 1. Yes 2. No. *overwhelming majority probably 99.9% NO.* Done. Leave it in the past. Do another poll for an idea, and we vote yet again. Don't give us these stupid survey's that will often take 20-60 mins wasting our time for us to finally get to the end and just really see how predatory the survey was and what it was asking from us. Honestly they could avoid so much of this BS if they genuinely used their heart rather than their money-centric heads...All the stuff they're positing in these survey's shouldn't even be something they're remotely considering, especially not in the current climate of the game. It's ridiculous.

Some of Jagex's tier options is like paying more for a room on a cruise ship but 'losing' priority to a service unless you pay for the next tier. But you lose the priority for the service you were paying for and is not offered later Nevermind that some of the lower tier options were more expensive than the highest tier when paying yearly for a discount That is how silly the survey is and it doesnt matter whether you are a startup or a big company: Read your own survey before sending it out to customers

I think our mistake is thinking Jagex is making a mistake at all. Like you said, they’re a billion dollar company. They know what players want, what we will put up with, where the lines are… Every time they do this, I always assume that whatever data Jagex is after has NOTHING to do with the survey or content they put out, but some unspoken variable that they provoke us into admitting.
