I tried out rs3 after being one of the people who quit when EoC came out without trying it, I found it to be really good. Better than OSRS in many ways which is wild. If they clearly explained why bonds or membership need to be more expensive, then it's bound to generate some grumbling but its still more on the line of "i still don't like it, but understandable" The problem was proposing change towards way worse options and taking away things they have already established long ago. Instead of "if you pay less you get a shorter afk time", you could pitch a deluxe membership with exclusive worlds, longer afk time and whatever. My theory: Treasure Hunter singlehandedly props up RS3 but it's dying/withering. All the whales are maxed and maxed out. So they ran a survey in RS3 in October to see if users would take pay increases in other areas of the game -- it was received poorly. Pivoting, Jagex decided in January, what if we try to grab the revenue from OSRS instead. It was met equally poorly.
