That is still roughly 70 hour grind with an avg kill time of 10min. A good way would be to do what they did with the sceptre crystals. at 1kc its 1/400 at 400 kc its 1/50

Enjoyable video and perhaps what I needed to hear. I've played since release, I'm almost maxed and not sure what to do after. I have ideas of what I could do but the way things are going quitting no longer seems like a crazy idea. Honestly I think they're starting to face the consequences of everytime they ignored the community. For a good 7-10 years since the game came out they regularly listened to players, held Q&As and, for the most part, kept to the polls. Now days it feels like every other update was unpolled or has a massive problem behind it. A lot of content has been amazing but the trust they built up has been collapsing. I suspect we won't see an EoC quitting moment but player numbers will start dropping off, with spikes during updates and events like leagues. The game will be played but not as main, long term, game like many of us have treated it in the past. It will be a fun nostalgia trip that we'll watch fade away. Or, if we're lucky, the team start listening to the community again. Updates are aimed at making it the best runescape can be, rather than chasing money and player numbers. With that the money and players will follow, just like the early days.

I came back because of leagues, and I am generally enjoying the game. Maybe I'm not at the same "state of gameplay" as you are, but I don't want this video to come off as a "Jagex hates you, stop playing their game." One important note that I left out of this video is the "fake wall of membership cancellations". Just because you cancelled your membership doesn't mean you aren't playing. I pay a 12 month membership every December so even if I quit now they still get my money for 11 more months. Ex-Mod Mat K (I think he left Jagex) even said that all these "I'm quitting" posts are fake and Jagex already has gotten used to the initial backlash and know the majority of the playerbase wont actually leave. So we will never truly see another EOC level movement.

Colo rewards outside of quiver are terrible, Amoxliatl shouldn't have been added, and the less said about Hueycoatl the better. Not looking too great with the rewards for the delve boss considering Jagex doesn't seem to want to give it anything good aside from 1 item. 16:49 This is like a weird take considering the 'one boot' you'd bring anywhere when you use multiple styles was prims from the release of Cerb in 2015 to the mage rebalance in 2024. The only reason you'd bring pegs anywhere is if you're only using ranged and don't need the prayer bonus from devouts for some reason, and the only reason to use eternals now is if you have a shadow. 18:07 The delve requirement on the occult upgrade is completely pointless considering they said they're gonna add an item that starts you on the third level anyways, and the item itself is way weaker than it has any right to be considering it's coming from what will be the hardest boss in the game. The rewards overall are extremely disappointing and the boss isn't going to be as profitable as something like Nex or Colo or raids long term, it's like they're scared of making it a consistent money maker or having it give out too many good items so they're giving it barely anything.

I'm confused... what did they add in RS3 because of Inferno? I thought Inferno was modeled after Fight Kiln in RS3 which came out wayyyy before Inferno in OSRS.

Probably an oversight on my part. I didn't know the Fight Kiln existed and when I asked my RS3 friends if the inferno exists in RS3 they pointed out that Zuk was added as a boss because of the success of the Inferno in osrs. Thanks for clarifying that.

@@sobpop That makes sense! I did literally learn just today Zuk is in RS3. Didn't know RS3 had GWD3 either as I quit RS3 shortly after GWD2. I think it's a little bit of both. RS3 had fight kiln, which spawned Inferno in OSRS, which gave birth to Zuk, so they added it in RS3

I'm fine with AFK methods if they're at heavily reduced xp methods. Even the 6 hour duke mining was fine imo. I don't get why everyone is so afraid of the idea of AFKscape. Just make the options 10x the amount of active hours needed to 99. All you're doing is encouraging people who cant grind and play regularly to stop playing.

You had my attention at "Let me yap for a bit" 😄As a fellow content jumper it is difficult to play either OS or RS3 consistently. With the slow pacing that is the core of Runescape it is difficult to keep it as a consistent main game to log in and play everyday. I inevitably renew for any new content but quickly find myself throwing it to the second monitor to AFK and then not signing in at all after a while. I feel the most success Jagex has had to bring my attention back has to be the introduction of new game modes. I have been enjoying the new Group Ironman modes, especially in rs3 where is feels a little less grindy with the quality of life rs3 brings and I absolutely LOVE OSRS leagues. I will always renew for a few months during leagues season. Looking forward to whatever new game modes are to come out in the future. See you in two years!

@@Mageimin Thanks for pointing that out. It was my first time in front of a green screen so I felt awkward and I am generally a quiet talker. I kept the mic at 0db and the background music at -40db so maybe next time I can up the mic volume.

The bowfa grind didnt exist when most people made their irons, bowfa replaced the blowpipe which was way easier to get. Now you have about 20% of irons going twice over drop rate in the least enjoyable monocolour content in the game. I think even the irons who went dry af on gauntlet would appreciate jagex sparing future irons the pain because they know how often it caused them to "take breaks". Im 855 dry on and off playing for the past 2 years. A friend on mine had to wait to 1900, that's just ridiculous and he would not wish that on his worst enemy. But another point i'm sick of hearing "WHY DID YOU PLAY IRONMAN IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE GRIND" People do not play ironman because they love boring repetitive grinds that go 6x over drop rate. They play because it forces you to create elaborate goals and plans to make progress and leads you to experiencing content that isn't "worth doing" on a main. That desire does not translate to PLEASE MAKE EVERY DROP IMPOSSIBLE TO GET SO I CAN FLEX HOW HARDCORE I AM. It's not actually about difficulty or flexing, it's simply more fun. So don't be surprised when irons complain about massive obstacles getting in the way of that fun. It is a game at the end of the day. Nice vid though

I think both viewpoints are valid. I don't hate ironmen or think they're dumb for playing the game mode, but I don't know any ironmen. The only Ironmen opinions I see are from these echo chambers of misery that are twitter and the subreddits. People generally come to those to complain about X or Y and not "Hey I'm having a lot of fun doing Grind B". I like that ironmen have different paths to the game then main accounts. Some people will get a huge influx of gold and feel like the game is meaningless. I know many people who won 1b stakes back at the Duel Arena and lost all passion for the game because gold meant nothing when you can just buy a megarare for 2 minutes of effort. So I understand and respect people who truly stick it out in Ironman mode, and make some skills that are "useless" for mains, very important to them. I personally hate slayer, so I am glad I can buy any slayer item from the Grand Exchange. I'll never play an ironman because of that.

@sobpop I don't know what kind of set up you have, and I appreciate the green screen, but sitting down in a static position, or clipping the mic on your shirt, and then say profane words into the mic to test yourself, you'll find a sweet spot. Definitely appreciate your take on the game tho, it's very how would one say, not vaginally inclined and realistic.

To touch on the ironman argument, Runescape is overall not a fun game. The enjoyment comes from long term progression and satisfaction or the time spent with friends. Ironman provides more personal satisfaction because every achievement was done manually. Mains can do things like buy bonds or RWT and in the modern day gaming environment, why would I spent hours grinding for something I can just pay for? Complaining about grinds being too hard or too long makes sense to me. If an ironman who is forced to engage with the content hates it and quits the game over it, why the hell would a regular account who can pay to bypass it ever engage with it? If you play classic WoW, it's the same concept. Why would I, an adult with a job, spend my time picking flowers and mining ore for 10 irl hours when I can pay the chinese $10 to bypass it? That is not fun, grinding is not fun, hitting big numbers is fun. Also, any ironman who has the "i dont want this easier because i did it the hard way" mindset is a bitch. Im almost maxed and if everything I did was magically easier for newer ironmen I would be fine with it.

I think my opinion of Varlamore might be biased because I've only been playing again for about a month so Varlamore is entirely new to me. As pointed out in a different comment, it seems like there's a group of people who dislike varlamore outside of the coliseum
