In ESO, another mmo I play, there is a massive chinese bot farming problem. One day I was farming mats next to one of these massive bot chains, and another bot entered the area alone. It has a weird name, sorry if I butcher it, but it was something like "wo shin" something something. All it did was stand in one spot and continually cast a skill which puts down an aoe effect to increase the movement speed of players who enter the area for about 10 seconds. See, the thing is, ESO bots don't work like modern RS bots. They're just glorified macros. So, the extra speed basically dislodged all of these bots from their chain, and sent them out wandering across the Alik'r desert doing very stupid looking pointless actions. I later googled the name of the hero bot - it was chinese for "I like to cause trouble". I'd love to say that this was some awesome vigilante bot, protecting the economy or whatever - but it's probably just sabotaging the competition.

Its crazy how Jagex, through having an addictive, fun and popular game singlehandedly created their own worst enemies ;D Like, imagine the tens of thousands of kids from a decade ago grinding RuneScape all day and fell in love with computers, then got a keen interest in what makes RuneScape RuneScape and thus learned about coding and other back end dealings. I sent a tipoff email with over 50 RSNs to him last week. I was hunting eclectics on my GIM, and these bots were EVERYWHERE. Those 50 names were from just one 2 hour session. They would hop into my world, and then quickly hop out if there was another player there. Luckily, I could use runelite's lookup function to record the name to later paste into my list and the report screen.

Only way to stop botting is if they force you to allow a program to check your background operations on your pc and allowed to scan files etc but no way players will agree with that i think a certain csgo client or something cant remember does that to fully stop cheaters

A few players on the permanent w45 dmm have been able to break freezes when their opponents are freeze teleing. It would seem to be based off of something similar to the bug you found but using a house tab while skulled to give a chat interface with a countdown. This is interesting because the chat interface is actually more similar to the possible fix you latter found with the 3 second timer.

It's either very old footage/old bug or the guide price of dragon platelegs had changed beyond a threshold during the point A and point B when you tested this. Since the "Are you trying to drop items in combat... 3... 2... 1.." message was implemented a couple years ago, around 2019 or so. It was to prevent clans from dropping their gear before dying and have their clan members pick it up, essentially turning a 400m kill to 3m. At launch that message would display on every item during combat which annoyed a lot of pkers, so they increased the threshold value to trigger the prompt because if you had to drop an item to equip a godsword and go in for a KO you'd be stopped by the message.

I support this in so far as it is actually improving the game for real players more than its harming it. Something that cannot be said for most normal bots. Someone is still benefiting in gp and minor amounts of xp by not actually playing the game. Bro LMS is way worse than you think, there is a sea of Venezuelans that use either a client, AHK or some form of script to 1 tick barrage and auto pray melee when you click your spec weapon- They’re typically level 40-80 and if you DD with entity hider you’ll see them switch in 1 tick perfectly every time and auto pray if you equip DDS Not to mention the number of mains that auto switch with no fear of being banned… My tip is to DD and 1 tick all of your attacks and you’ll beat them every time! You get an added bonus of them crying “safe, maldito” they don’t realise safe means high hp lololol Source: “off 1s nfs” 1k win LMS win cape - :D

Jagex has been having a lot of problems with the game lately. Yesterday my brother & I couldn't log in to our long-term accounts. Accs we've had for years & never had a problem with them before. My brother's problem was a DNS error or whatever problem & mine was my pass was wrong even though I never used any other pass for this acc before & it remained the same password the whole time. Ended up changing my pass to fix it, but what in the hell man. Basically, Jagex just forced me to change my password for no reason.

If it makes you feel any better, his projections are based on 100% success rate. So that eclectic farm for example, is making 10b'/month with 100 accounts. Thats 200 bonds a month ~1.2b assuming NO bans. I can almost guarantee they're banned within 3 days, so to have 100 accounts 24/7 despite bans at one time it would be more like 1000-2000 bonds a month, which is 6-12b, and then on top of that they will be getting banned before transferring off 100% of the loot. So maybe they make 1-3b, but even then id be semi surprised. This doesnt even take into account the man hours of running 100 accounts/setting them up, and constantly replenishing them (although im sure this can be fairly automated at this point). From Jagex's point of view though, one player is potentially buying 1000+bonds a month to make a few bill gp, they would HAPPILY accept that $6000+/month from one player, letting them make a couple hundred mill a month if it keeps them coming back and doing it over and over. Bots are Jagex's best friend if they are suicide membership bots. Twitch prime memberships is what makes this worth it for the bots. They can get memberships for 1m an account (less in huge bulk), and just need to profit 1m per account to break even instead of 6m+. The bots that I'm more concerned about are the ones that somehow have thousands of kills at gwd, cg, zulrah etc.

But jagex can effectively kill botters overnight if they wanted to. Essentially, what they can do is have a item code for each GP and items, and said item code can track which account its been on in the last month. Once a bot is detected, you can instantly identify the mule. Best part, you can also identify the RWT who bought the gold as well.. Effectively killing bots and RWT overnight. (So say a bot kills 1000 dragon bones and sell it, he gets 3m GP. Than trades it over to his mule. Said bot gets banned, and the item code for the dragon bones and GP are linked. They can then track it to ban the bot mule and RWT buyer.) Also IP bans should be a thing for Botters only. OFC botters can get around this, but killing bots is all about making it hard for them to profit.

There is a plague of elf pickpocketing bots in Priffdinas. I see them in every world while hopping for crystal imps on gim. Total level 1600s have minimum SotE reqs with mid 90s thieving, and half are 115+ thieving up to literal 200m xp at 220m total. It's absolutely disgusting and it's obvious which ones are botting because they don't even bother to trap the npc in a house, they just run out in the open following the elf around non-stop. Also look for untrimmed thieving capes. Some of the accounts are likely hacked judging by usernames. This is now the single most valuable skilling method in the game at 4m+ an hour, and I worry what it means if Jagex can't catch bots with SotE reqs and nearly 200m exp in one skill. Please help us Sir Pugger, you're our only hope. 🙏

Had the weirdest scam happen to me: Was doing some slayer at bloodvelds near Neave. And a random comes up to me and starts chatting, very nice and charming, and randomly gives me 1m. Just thinking he's being nice, it's rare but does happen. Then he asks me to trade me my Fury for free and he said he'd give me a torture (obvious scam) and some randoms then turn up on my unpopulated german world at like 4am UK time saying "scam alert, don't trade fury, trade with me instead" (another obvious scam). Then when I don't trade them, they call me slurs and log out. So when i don't trade the original guy my Fury, he gives me another 1m for free. Like a fury is only worth 2.2m, where is the scam here? Did he just want to gain my trust, is he dumping stolen coins before his account gets banned, or was it actually not a scam? So odd, but i liked the attention

Jagg should make a new "Rare Mob" (Robot Slayer) that goes and spawns in high density areas. Drops like 1gp and always attacks players. So its like a sort of Admin Pvp bot. A Sentinel perhaps.

It's very likely it was done before, but you just didn't know about it.

They should probably remove the auto typing feature as well as start enforcing a punishment for using 3rd party auto-typers. Since the introduction of the GE, barely any actual players use the Auto Typer for anything other than scamming.
