So a really important thing about phone numbers that some people might not realize is, if a person gets your number they can go to any phone store that deals with your network and request a replacement SIM card, then use that to access your email account and steal personal info or even worse your Runescape gold. Now something to remember is most phone stores have a policy of asking for ID to match names to numbers when people come in too stop just this thing happening, but as someone who worked in a phone store for a long time, some of the employees do not care and will just do the replacement sim. TL:DR register your number in your name and always be careful with it.

Ill explain to you the Add to friend list, Phone number scam. The idea is, Your standing at a spot where gold farming sites trade their ingamemoney in exchange for real life gold. They hope they catch someone who just bought gold. Once they can talk to you in private chat they ask for your phone number. If you give it to them they will call you. And tell you a few reasons why you should "give back" the gold you just bought. (some kind of indian phone center scam) They try to trick you into believing they are from the gold selling website, and eventually trying to trick you into giving the money you just bought to them. After that you cant report them since you also commited a bannable offense buying the gold. Therefor this group goes unnoticed. End of story.

The Shanty Pass bots could be used for funds transfer to mules for stacking. Since there is a funds for item trade it would be much more discrete than open trading. Say you sell shanty passes for 100 gp no sane player would buy them, but you could pay that price and transfer funds to your bots (at the possibility of slight loss but not much on that size of set up) and then transfer them to your main mule via trades for more passes to avoid it looking like a blatant funds transfer.

my friend found a fresh start world bot but HOPEFULLY it was only one and reported it already. the bot was doing red chins bellow fairy ring aks for hours and then traded a higher level with assumingly the chins. it was quite easy to fool though apparently seeing as it places box traps in the same spot....but gets right back to the spot if you ever remove your box. still he had fun messing with it for a while before reporting and the person that traded the bot lol

As a software dev myself, its hilarious these software devs sit down and plan out their next moves on what bot farm to start next, even set milestones for these projects, throw out ideas lmao, set budgets to keep, calculate monthly profit. Calculate risk factors, time to ban ratio, Constantly changing Ip addresses, Than actually writing the scripts. This is a full time job, this isn't an easy walk in the park like people think it is 😂😂 This is most likely a team effort 2-3 devs doing these projects.

As a former RWTer (i dont anymore) - those bots are trying to intercept gold buyers / sellers, and are not affiliated at all. They scrape gold selling sites for trades that are happening and then get some of your personal info sometimes to threaten you if you dont trade them the gold you bought. This happened to me a few years ago - and he know my full name, what phone i had, email, and thats about it - and said he was going to torture / kill me multiple times if I didnt trade him the gold over. Scary stuff.

Here is why the shanty pass bots exist. Most likely just using mouse recorder so there’s little to no effort of creating the “bot”. Extremely low chance of it breaking and because it’s so discreet likely low ban rate. Probably a real player raking in slow money in long term while sleeping or going to school or work. Could be for collectors or a collector themself

Giant's foundry is profitable because of the Kovac Grog. It takes less than 10 minutes to get 300 points to buy one. They sell for about 50k-75k regularly. But a month ago I was able to get 120k each for them on the GE if I was patient. That's ON TOP OF the gp you receive for completing each sword.

I was actually just going to buy shanty passes in bulk, here’s why: I do a lot of kalphite tasks and if I bring 5gp with a full inventory I have to drop an item, buy the pass, then pick up the item and go through. Much more convenient if I just bought some passes and throw it in my inventory setup

The shangay passes are bought by quest bots and questing services. Easier to teach to use ge than use npc. This applies to several quests and even normal players do buy the items. But service providers etc pay bit over price since its not really from them. Also botscripts areeasier to buy everything required to quest a certain quest. Big hunch but then again fsw would be much more profitable at start especially for this

about a month or 2 ago a friend and i decided to pull out the pures and go rev cave pking for fun. At the pyrefiends on the north end there were tons of bots risking (skulled with dhide and avarice). At the time avarices were 600k ish. We figured we'd tried to farm them. So we did....and realized if we TB'd and ragged them/froze them etc they would eventually outlast the dps and tele out after 2.5min (tb with prot mage). We then stopped freezing and just followed them out of the cave. Turns out they run to the enclave while tb'd. At the enclave they glitched out and stopped eating/drinking potions so we would just get free loot... every kill was a smite and the average PK was 700k-1.2m. We were getting up to 10kills per hour sometimes. Made out with around 230m of pk loot before the farm caught on and stopped or moved elsewhere. Originally it was just me and my friend but other randoms caught on to our strategy. I wish i recorded and sent it in....oh well... i do have the loot tab still on runelite which is nice

@@verteup no that's not how it works at all. If you're already at endgame pvm making millions/hr doing raids/bosses etc, no skilling method will come remotely close to that amount of gp. If it did, then people would move to that and crash its price, because why would you bother doing difficult pvm tasks when afking skills gets the same gp. Skilling methods are low gp because they take no skill and has very low requirements. Which means if bots didn't exist, the prices of skilling resources would skyrocket but those methods still won't be anywhere near as profitable as endgame pvm. So for people who are at endgame pvm (those who want 99 prayer), the cost of prayer would go up significantly and their income would not change.

for the shantay pass bots, I know of at least one collector that has 20m+ shantay passes. It has to be connected to collecting somehow. With a larger stack you could probably sell them directly to a collector for profit, or the collector themself is doing it

They are in a runecrafting gear and they keep teleing in and out of edge vill and they all have high level runecrafting.. they are unskulled so they arent going to the abyss.... notice them in some worlds. some are high lvl combat and some lvls... always have me wondering.
