I've been pretty distracted with a couple other games for the last 5 or 6 weeks, I have missed all of this Deadman drama that's built up to this. The title of this video is pretty accurate, Jamflex has been losing control of their own game for a long time. Their complete inability to shut any of this down is going to have catastrophic affects on Runescape at some point. Not just this Deadman crap, there's more situations coming to a head that closely resemble the Trident situation. Maybe they'll get their shit together someday, hopefully soon.

It's odd to me as a sysadmin of 10 years that they cant figure out a way to stop some low level ddosing. There's so many ways to handle DDOS's from adjusting tcp window sizes to creating proper firewall rules either HW or server side or just good ol' fasion stateful firewall setup you can google how to get the configs for windows linux or any system/hardware. Hell. At the end of DMM its only like 1000 people or less right? Could just blacklist all traffic and create a whitelist for the 1000 reamining people. Shouldn't be rocket science to prevent yourself from getting ddos'd from a group of random 20 y/os using poorly rented hardware from prolly romania or some obscure country with loose hosting laws.
