Jaguar Catches and Kills Crocodile Underwater

Anyone who heads on the Jaguar Safari hopes to see Jaguars in action, but this sighting has to be right up there! The jaguar spotted the caiman and made its approach, managing to grab a hold of the caiman underwater, and secure its grip. The caiman was by no means done, and put up quite a good fight. The strength of the jaguar's jaws coupled with its swimming abilities eventually won the battle. What a sighting!

It can hunt in so many habitats, it's crazy! Ambush,chase or simply overpower like in this video are all skills this cat has. They can even hunt squirls in the treetops, hard to believe even when you see it. They are also gorgeous to look at and a fun fact is they take drugs that makes them trip, there is something special about the jaguar. Truly a blessed predator, i understand why the aztecs venerated this beast.

Of all the big cats, Jaguars are the most fscinating to me. They have a bite force superior to other big cats. They're often thought to be Leopards, but are more heavily bodied and live in an entirely different region of the world, in an entirely different environment.

Then, crocs are at least 4 times more faster and 10 times more aggressive than gators and caimens. Anything fallen in water becomes a prey for them and they even inspired the movie 'Lake Placid' which you guys in the west created after fathoming a croc. every animal's greatest weak is the back of the neck, and it's particularly true for quadrapedal animals, since they don't have arms that can somewhat reach behind. and for creatures who's jaws are their greatest weapon, grabbing their neck (front of back) instantly denies them any possibility of reach or control. That mouth is no longer a threat if you control the neck.

The Jaguar is impressive but keep in mind the Jaguar is found in South America and the crocodiles in South America are Caimans, which grow to a maximum of 90lbs. By comparison, the Nile crocodile which is found throughout Africa grows to 1.650lbs and the largest one found was 2,200lbs.

I think there is considerable size difference between an adult caiman and an adult crocodile. Couple that with the amazing swimming ability of the jaguars, and the lack of skill in the water from the leopards and lions, and you have your answer.

Jaguars are usually bigger than the Caiman they hunt, and if the Caiman is bigger than the jaguar it'll still be relatively comparable in size. Adult salties, on the other hand, can grow larger than any other predator on land. Nothing can hunt them in the water. Even the Nile crocodiles in Africa are too big.
