Jaguar F Type Get Rid of the Front Crash Bar!!

I just completed this project and Phil’s instructions were spot on. There are definitely a few snags along the way, in particular having to modify the new trim to fit the grille opening. That said, Phil’s video gave me the confidence to cut away and make the fit!

Nice upgrade with the “E-Pace” on your “F-Type” Phil The thing is ours comes with sensor holders which we made sure were installed when we developed the P7 grille Great informative video btw 👍

Wow, you’re so talented. Nice job!! My 2019 F is stock and the “crash bar” doesn’t bother me at all. That being said, yours looks fantastic. I’ve got the blackout, but I like the red surround on the growler logo and I’ve kept my leaper logo chrome too so they pop.

I would be terrified to do all that just to change the front grill, my front bumper will end up falling off lol, i must say that change made a HUGE difference even just blackening the red part of the jag logo, finish is a lot classier yet aggressive just like the Ftype . It blows my mind how most car manufacturers can't get these subtle changes right to max the cars looks/power/exhaust sound, people are constantly making after market changes to make their cars look, sound and perform better. The Ftype did something different and gave the consumer a car that actually sounds like a sports car, i swear most peoples decisions in buying an Ftype has to a great extent been influenced by the sound, yet so many other sporty cars out there sound average.

So cool. As for the Grill I’m assuming there aren’t any different types? Just a “standard” E Pace Grill? I’m planning on still using my chrome plate. Would you anticipate the fit would be less of a hassle than you had with the after market carbon fiber one? Again, really fantastic work and thanks for sharing so the rest of us can learn!

You can’t use the original surround as you will have cut outs in it where the bar used to be!

nice mod, have only two questions how did you deal with tow hook screw in place ? and is e-pace grille same or similar to f-pace grille ? thanks

hi, yea, that is one of the downsides, you lose the tow hook position, e-pace grill is very similar, hence why its used

Would I be able to remove the plastic bit behind the two vertical vents on the front for more airflow to the wheels and the side ones in ye side to let out more heat from the engine

If you use original surround without the crash bar you will have cut outs each side where the crash bar would have been

Hi Phil....great video! I've got a minor issue... After watching your video, i went and bought all of the component parts you used, but having done all that, I now cant find a bodyshop willing to modify the e-pace grill in order to make it fit flush! I know you've done a DIY job, but i dont have the tools (or the skills 😅) to do this myself! Any recommendations for a brave bodyshop in the North? Im not above driving to you with a wad of cash and a prayer! 😂

Hi, as I am not a professional, I don’t like working on any cars that I don’t own, sorry, I don’t think you need that many tools for this job, if you follow my video to the letter I bet you could do it! The worst part was getting the parking sensors in but you could always miss that bit out but you would get false alerts from them. The rest was just trial and error until it fitted! I doubt any body shop would take this on, but, if you are close to Doncaster, you could try Automotive Finesse and tell them to call me to find out what’s involved as I know Rudi very well

The e-pace front badge is the same as comes on the later (post facelift) model f-types (the ones that do not have the front bar across the grille). I got a new f-type all black one from Jaguar dealer, but they’re not exactly cheap…
