Jaguar Hunts Giant River Otter

Living alongside one another, they are bound to run into each other from time to time, and when they do, it is awkward at best. Obviously, jaguars are the apex predator in the region, but the giant river otters are no slouches.
This female took an opportunistic chance on a single giant river otter, and missed. The giant river otter then sent out the distress call which brought the family back together, ending the jaguar's chance. The vocalisations are amazing, and the strength in numbers is very apparent.

not really, jaguars stands no chance with pack of giant river otters even when the emerge on the surface. For mother and her cubs it would be a run for life. The tille should be Otters hunts Jaguars

@@RiczardGW how is it a "otters hunts jaguars" if the otters were just defending themselves, do you know what does the term hunting mean? Doubt you do. Also there is reports of jaguars successfully catching this giant river otters, and almost killing them, there is even a video were the otter managed to escape but the jaguar chased the whole pack away.

@@RiczardGW in most of the cases the otters managed to escape because their ''help scream" makes the other otters react immediately and they are so quick that the jaguar just drops the otter and runs to not get bit by the huge amount of angry otters charging at it.

At 70lb a giant river otter is a challenge to a jaguar as like there cousins honey badgers and wolverines they are extremely hardy animals you then add the whole family its like a pack of wolves vs a bear

Not very often no. I have seen footage of them catching one, but when it gave the distress call the other otters were so quick to get involved the jaguar just dropped it and ran.
