There is no one that EVER denied Jaguars talent. From the very beginning it was never a lock out on her. There is a rage that goes beyond the music and folk be catching strays. The first album and the album notes, she cursing out her family and her mother-in-law…so to say it is a challenge to work with her is an understatement. Many things can be true at the same time. Jag is exceptionally talented yet extremely difficult to work with. And if there were any pleasantries about her and even a small amount of flexibility her career would have skyrocketed. It was her ball to drop and lose.

We ALL were, to be honest! Largely blame Geffen for putting Wright's recording career on "indefinite hiatus"😔. Soon as they took over MCA (label she was on at the time) in 2003, they immediately shelved her 2nd album (originally titled 'And Your Point Is...') which was already completed by then and made her pay out of her own pocket to salvage AT LEAST a few of those finished tracks from it. Those ended up on the lackluster 'Divorcing Neo 2 Marry Soul' album she put out independently two years later, so we''ll never really hear how it was meant to be heard in the first place as a result. Personally speaking, homegirl should've just followed it up with a kick-ass live album and kept ?uestlove and his fellow Roots compatriots on speed dial for any future studio projects. On the "silver lining" side (lol), glad she didn't bend over for the industry this whole time. It's the one thing I've always liked about her character... 😌💯👌
