@@Star.Chaser yeah completely the same as the bmw just the engine, gearbox, diffs, drive shafts, brakes, chassis, body. There isn’t one part it shares with the BMW but other than that you’re right it’s basically the same buddy.

Ummm how about crediting the driver? All these nurburgring records with cars that never see the street are a bit ridiculous (especially when you shorten the lap like this), the only reason I like this is because of how well it was driven. How can you not credit the driver?

Absolutely agree. But the driver is limited by the vehicle obviously. Remember the erra of Jacques Villeneuve? He was winning all the time because he had the much better car... great driver but absolutely had the edge over the others... How else do you suggest we compare vehicles like this?

Tarun Vijay which is actually one of the flaws of the jaguars. the AJ8 is old, heavy, inefficiently, lacks new technology. By all means it is the weak point on the car

this engine has been around way before the f-type, it traces it's roots from the era when ford owned Jaguar and the supercharged 5.0L V8 is still based on the old modular ford 4.6L V8 developed in the early 90's

@@kevins5911 No. The 5.0 AJ Gen III is derived from the old 4.2 AJ Gen II, which is a completely Jaguar designed and built. If anything Ford copied the engine design from Jaguar for their 5.0 Coyote V8.

Just saw the footage on Top eeeh, I mean, The Grand Tour and I think this car is completely idiotic. It is the opposite of sensible, it will be complicated as hell to maintain and I need one. Badly. For a long time this is the first car that really got me. The looks, the noise, it all fits together perfectly. A bit like the VXR 8 Bathurst. 👍

Unbelievable that this car can go 5s faster than a Carrera GT considering that enormous amount of time spent in braking, the pilot has to send at least two e-mails and a phone call before each turn ! With more brakes and/or much less weigh this thing could be close to 7' dry, really good base

Aurélien b this thing is a beast in high speed corners tho. A good amount of aero grip. Much more stable than Carrera GT on its lap. And I’m pretty sure it’s faster on the straights too.

How can we compare this to the Alfa?? Alfa is a standard vehicle, this is a highly modified XE for track! It has a roll cage!! Can’t compare to Giulia, M3, C63... also what you pay for it you can nearly buy all the other 3...

yes it's legal, the difference is that only 300 of these will be produced, and it's more than twice the price of the quadrifoglio which is real daily driver. But in the end this is still the fastest production sedan around the nurburgring, although you could argue about the definition of "production" ! Both are great cars :)

Ricky Mk people also compared the giulia with panamera, which is dumb also. since Panamera is wayyy bigger. This and the alfa is in the same class. This=M4 GTS, C63 BS, And of course if giulia ever comes out with a track focused version

If you saw this and came to troll as a petty hater, shame on you and you are not a true car enthusiast! What I see here is fan boy meltdown and a heap of Teddy's on the nursery floor. The roll cage is optional for track spec cars, (had anyone bothered to check), so why wouldn't Jaguar present their most capable spec at a track event? Do you think for a single moment, any other manufacturer in the same position wouldn't do exactly the same thing? As much as I love British cars and our world beating, superior, British Automotive engineering. (Three quarters of the F1 teams have their engineering based in the UK). Even so, I wouldn't hesitate to congratulate, BMW, Mercedes, Alfa, Nissan, even Skoda and marvel at such a remarkable piece of automotive excellence. I can, however, revel in the heaped jealousy, Viva Brexit!

People must realize that horsepower is not always the answer. Height and weight and width are just as important as horsepower. The XE SV project is too wide, too high, too heavy. Jaguar should spend their time and energy on the F-type but it needs more legroom. At 6'-3" it is a tight fit she said.

I don't know why... It is a fast car... Great looking.... But the price really turn me off.... Jaguar is a goo d brand... But this car reminds me of E92 M3 GTS... can anyone tell me what is your preference between those two mentioned below. E92 M3(Used vehicle) with G Power M3 GT2R packages.... Vs JAGUAR XE PROJECT 8..... This few options came into my mind when I watch this video

And then they did it faster…. We have put 5k miles on ours over the last 5 years in some pretty big rallies with some pretty big cars. It has no problem running with the Lamborghinis, Ferraris and McLaren actual I think it’s faster than most of them in this type of situation.
