It depends on the Company the way they want . They can make it very easy or intentionally very difficult so people go to dealership . For eg Oil fitter it can take from 1 minute to 2 hr depends on the car !! And some times when there is no other way of making it more difficult for mechanics or diy .they have to go with simple option because of shape of the body .

Nice vid. I've got an XE thats developed a howl thats either a turbo going bad or a leaking intercooler pipe. I'll be referencing your vid to do the repair. FWIW, you can buy just the turbo core, not the whole thing (I know you saved money by getting a 2nd hand one), but for other XE owners who get this issue and would like to avoid a stinging bill, there's that option aswell. EGR filter is a good shout. The EGR valve needs replacing also around 90k ish.

At the end with the test you can hear a bit of clicking when the engine runs. A common problem with this engine is a loose/stretched timing chain and it causes clicking similar to that.

This is GREAT WORK!! I had a failed turbo due to the actuator the turbo was over-speeding. We changed the turbo cleaned out the intake and intercooler, we had the same issue with the water "breather" pipe. Sadly the car runs well when its cold but as soon as it gets warm it hesitates when revs are held steady between 2000 and 2500rpm, could be the EGR? what do you think?

Great video. Random question and I’m hoping you can help. I’ve just bought an F pace with the same ingenium engine. Having issues with coolant temperature, it essentially never gets to temperature and if it does (rare) it’ll drop back down again quickly. Apparently a Jaguar main dealer said it was air locked and they’d resolved but it’s just the same. My money is on thermostat housing, any thoughts bud? Out of interest, does your XE get to the middle of the temp gauge and then stay there for the rest of the journey?

Hi!! Did you ever change the Accessory Belt on the 2.0 D? It’s seems that the Intake Air Cooler needs to be disassembled to reach the idler pulley on the right side (between alternator and climate compressor)….
@TrackAndBeyond

Sadly never had to change like no sorry bud
@sirjabbas
@sirjabbas Жыл бұрын
It does, but taking the air intake apart is a 5 minute job and gives you access to all the pulleys. Ive done this job myself and its fairly easy. Its a bit tricky on the right hand side as space is limited but you can slip a new belt through the gaps easily enough. You'll need a set of Torx sockets to relax the belt tensioner and a reasonably long socket wrench, torque wrench or breaker bar makes the job a lot easier

If the engine management light is on it could be one of thousands of possibilities only way to know for sure what’s up is by having it plugged in to a diagnostic machine and seeing what codes are there. That pipe is plastic with metal end and clip holder for the turbo. Hah i don't need the whole pipe just one litle ring seal that is. But this is how people want to make money. When i was abroad i just pull out the seal from the pipe bed and lifted on the top. Turbo have cone shape and when i put it back seal the thing better but this is temp solution, till i find better rubber for this place. Hey, I have the same XE, do you have any experience with the P0299 turbo under boost fault? Car goes to limp mode whenever I push the accelerator harder. Already cleaned the EGR, checked turbo, it feels ok, it has only only a very tiny play. Do you have any suggestion?

Hey, not personally experienced that issue. Could be the turbo actuator as that seems a component that’s prone to failure is it petrol or diesel?

@@TrackAndBeyond it’s the 2.0 163Le diesel

Could be the actuator although I would have thought you’d have a code for that too. Have you checked for boost leaks etc?

@@TrackAndBeyond I checked the hoses, clamps, but can't do a pressure test. If I'm right, it has two EGR valves. One before the turbo and an other one on the right side of the engine that goes directly to the intake manifold. The one you changed filter in the video was full of soot, so I cleaned it, but it's not on the pressure side, so I think that's not the cause of the problem. The other wierd thing is the comsumption which is as high as 33mpg. Is there any way to test the actuator? Or can this be a clogged DPF without any fault codes?

Don’t think so, if it was a clogged DPF you’d have messages about it. If you have a capable diagnostic machine you could do a test on the actuator

I hope my turbo is going to hold up a bit longer 😅. How many kilometres/miles has your Jag on the odo? Edit: hope your Jag is going to hold up. Which oil have you used now?

my turbo actuator failed at 68K....on petrol it cannot be replaced, believe me i tried to source that Hella part to hell and back. check ebay, there are OEM jag turbos for half dealer price new. I made an offer and held firm and finally got one for 650$ usd. skip used turbos imo. the actuator is a fail point, pull the error code always.

Nice man good effort on sourcing a turbo, iv seen the petrol turbo location and looks like it’s basically same place as my diesel one so should be pretty straightforward to change

@@joshcapecod6098 are you in the US, for some reason I thought Jaguars powertrain warranty was 7 years 70000 miles, maybe it's five years 60,000 miles

Hey, I have a question. My XE 2.0D just started to make this noise. It now has around 75'000km. Here is a video of the noise. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4HSh5upfpahhMk I would be very grateful if you could help me out what this sound is :)

Always tricky from a video as the sounds never that great. Sounds like something rubbing not sure what to suggest. Needs to be properly looked at and diagnosed
