Hi I've just had a quote of 1836 quid to put a new turbo on my xe r sport,am I having my pants pulled down to go ahead ???

I would say that is a bit expensive. A manufacturer turbo is around £450-£500 and in my opinion should only be around 4/5 hour labour not sure what the going rate is on labour but even at £100 an hour your looking at £1000. I’d expect about £1200/1300 for a turbo replacement on one of these. I’m not hooking when I say that these are a really simple turbo change

Hi Sorry late tho the xe party, only owned a year, the def warning has come on saying def low. Can I just top this up or do I need to do a full drain down? And how much do I know how to put in unlike my van it has no digital gauge. Thank you

Yea if it’s low just top it up, put 3l in I believe is the standard top up. What year is your XE? I believe 2017 onwards there is an option to see the gauge for DEF.

I’m trying to remove my head to replace the head gasket, but turbo manifold bolts have sheard one bolt, so can’t get a grip on it, question is, can I remove the head while it’s still attached too the turbo and manifold? I believe I just have to disconnect down pipe bolts and lines too turbo right?

Yea if you removed the downpipe from the turbo I can’t see why you couldn’t remove the head with manifold and turbo still attached, their is only 3 or 4 bolts holding the turbo to the manifold so you could infact split the turbo off the manifold aswell and just bring the head with exhaust manifold still attached

@@TrackAndBeyond the 3 bolts that hold turbo onto manifold, one head has sheared, so can’t get the e14 torx bit to grip, this is why I’m asking can I remove all with the head by just undoing the 3 nuts on down pipe 👍

Can use this oil also, Mobil Super 3000 Formula F Engine Oil - 0W-30 , same spec. Can buy in 5ltr container at £50.00 each from Eurocar parts. So 10 ltrs for £100, as opposed to 6 Ltrs. Check it out. Great vid by the way 👍👍

I've never seen that happen on f4r. And I reused the crank bolts couple of times. Must have been faulty bolt or improperly tightened

How did the auxiliary pulley detaching cause the engine to lose compression

So these engines have floating sprockets so when the bottom pulley is undone the crank sprocket can spin on the crankshaft freely. Because the crank sprocket doesn’t have a key way, when you do up the bottom pulley on to the crank sprocket it keeps it in place. You can buy aftermarket crankshaft sprocket that has a key way which would have dropped the engine smashing itself to bits. Hope that makes sense

hello friend, I still have a problem on my Jaguar Xe. I repaired the turbine, cleaned the DPF, replaced the pistol oil colling, but unfortunately I still have the error P0299-84 (Turbochanger underboost), they checked the turbo again and say that it is correct now 100 %, I called the authorized jaguar service center for a diagnosis, but they only have an appointment available in mid-April. Can you help me, what could it be, I would be very grateful.. 😢Regards

Good video sadly not resolved my issues. I had 'disel exhaust fluid quality incorrect' so followed both steps in this video clenainf then injector and the tank. Code changed to diesel exhaust fluid dosing malfunction. I went for 20 mile drive and tried to clear on obd but no luck

There are ECU updates than can be applied by dealer grade diagnostic equipment. Could also be your secondary NoX sensor has failed

I think so as code wise I have P2BAE (00) and (02) which both state nox sensor exceed then have the p2baf (00) is there no way of resting the countdown without NOX replacement

Excellent. 6:03 are those 3 tiny holes in the adblue nozzle? I'm guessing that's what controls the spray pattern? Also wondering if you drain the DEF tank and then put a gallon of really hot water in there and start the car and let that pump through, would it break up the clog? Seems like that might dissolve the crystals and free up the flow. Or am I wrong? Anyone try this? I'm working on a Range Rover Sport 2017.

Yea spot on mate the 3 nozels will control the spray pattern. I’m not sure when the adblue pump actually operates as I don’t think it does it under idle conditions so not sure if filling the tank with hot water will work or not

I have an error "camera system fault". I have tried to replace the optical cable, but reverse camera is still not working and error persists. Looks like the cable is fine, but I am not quite sure what else can cause this issue

The loom in the boot can also end up with breaks in the cables. Unfortunately this will be a case of removing the outer protective stuff and checking each individual cable

I had a lot of vibration and sounded like a steel drum. I watched your video and then checked my dampners. One was shot as you described. I ordered a genuine jaguar part off eBay (£40) and have just fit it. Didn’t even need a jack. I think it’s resolved the problem. Great work thanks.

@@ziahaq9810 Genuine Jaguar XE XF & F Pace 2.0 Diesel Rear Exhaust Damper T4A16991. This was the eBay listing title and the part number was written on the dampener. I hope that helps. It really was a very simple job.

Hay!Great Job!And what were the signs? I have the same engine, in 3rd and 4th gears it jerks when accelerating and 2 times there was an error: low turbine pressure, so I think that the turbine does not pump up the required pressure
