Jaguar XF | iCarsoft LR V2.0 scanner, do I have any fault codes?

Hi Simon, wow there's a lot of codes there. That said, lots of these can be caused by low battery, I have a Bosch AGM battery on mine that can go low if I don't use the car for a week, but it will still start the car. I have front and rear dashcams running in parking mode which I suspect drains the battery. I have one of the Aldi or Lidl smart chargers (can't remember which) and it can take up to 48 hours to fully charge the battery. I only realised recently it had a specific AGM mode on it. From experience, the no-crank issue you've just had could be insufficient pressure in the brakes. Once the vacuum is exhausted, you really need to stand on the pedal hard to get it to start (I found out when I called out the RAC for a non start, and it started first time for him!). Good luck with it, they are smashing cars when running right.

Thanks buddy, it was a lot of codes as you say! I have a mechanic coming to look at it a week on Monday, so let's see what he makes of it all. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed its something straight forward, but you never know!

Hi Simon...this is a difficult problem with the codes, unfortunately I don't have a tip for you. My xk8 convertible now also has a huge problem...the hydraulic line for the roof has broken.😮 That's a lot of work to fix. Greetings Udo

Hi Udo, modern cars are a problem at times to narrow things down aren't they. Sorry to hear about your roof, that will be a big job as you suggest, I really hope it goes well for you when you try and get it all sorted buddy 👍

Hi Simon, Obviously a lot of those codes can be discounted as not relevant to the non start issue, I assume the car has had some kind of impact in it's life, if I was back in the workshop and I was given this car as my next job I would be drop testing the battery and then taking a long hard look at the Engine ECU, are you sending it to a Jag dealer or an independent?

Hi again, yes, when I first got the car it had a very slight knock on the front end, done in a car park. I have our local mechanic coming over a week Monday to plug in his tool and see what he can see. But I think it needs to get off to a jaguar specialist to really understand what is going on. What do you think?

Hi Phil, thanks for that buddy. I agree, after charging the battery and resetting the codes, the only persistent code I keep getting is P062E, which is for the second fuel rail. Still working on it!!

@@projectsinthebarn Yes Jaguars are very finicky about voltage. The Facelift even more so. Hope you get it sorted as they are are great cars to drive.

I think that there were 7 ECM faults but you appeared to clear them all after only reading the first one. Maybe you pick up on this later on in the video. Richard

Hi Richard, yes, I thought I was inly erasing the water in fuel code, but seemingly it erased the whole lot!! So I never erased any other codes and have left them for the garage to see.

@@projectsinthebarn I understand. Most of those codes are historic and many of them will simply be the result of flattening the battery. I would erase the whole lot, put the car on my 10A battery charger and then try and start the engine and then read the codes again. That should tell you why the car is failing to start.
