I agree with you, this is a terrific car. In 2013 I bought a new XFS 3D. It now has more than 90km on the clock. Apart from a couple of DPF issues it has been great. I absolutely love it. My problem now is to find something to replace it.

Ha! I know that feeling very well. I've looked at the following as replacements and not one of them stacked up: 1. Jaguar XK 4.2 - my XF is faster in the mid range 2. Audi A7 313bhp - my XF is better balanced, faster in the real world and doesn't understeer like the Audi 3. VW Golf R - a huge disappointment. Couldn't get out of it fast enough, did not enjoy that driving experience 4. BMW 640d - claustrophic 5. Mercedes E350 - I'm not that old just yet ... ! 6. Maserati Ghibli (and any Maserati, to be honest) - all show and no go 7. Hyundai i30N - doesn't have the quality feel 8. BMW X6 - can't get past it's hideous looks 9. Ford Focus RS - it's not enough of an upgrade, and my Jaguar seats are far superior So for now I'm thinking about keeping the XF until the wheels fall off. Let me know what you decide to do? Thanks for watching! And spread the petrolhead word ...

I've owned my 2012 2.2 Premium luxury saloon for 2 years now and despite working in a job where I drive all sorts of vehicles every day, there's still not a car I've driven I'd rather have over my Jag. A Jaguar is a car for life.

Yes it's hard to replace. I thoroughly enjoyed my XF. Thanks for watching! Spread the petrolhead word...

one reason the finger tip gear change paddles might be attached to the wheel is to stop you changing gear when steering ? ! I try never to change a gear until the wheel is almost dead ahead . as it can lead to front wheels loading up /down etc .
@journeyofapetrolhead3 ай бұрын
Yeah I know you shouldn't change gear when cornering but what about coming out of the corner and wanting to shift up...paddles not there....hate that design. Thanks for watching!

@@journeyofapetrolhead by that time you should be almost “straight “ ?? I never brake , change gear or mash the throttle until I am at least 3/4 around a bend

What would sport mode with dynamic be like? 🤔

Honest question here. This older generation XF, or a 2018 (pre-facelift) XE?
@journeyofapetrolhead2 жыл бұрын
XF, all the way.

@@journeyofapetrolhead Post the 2015 Facelift XFS, everything Jaguar made became "German-esque". It Jaguar lost the finesse and design language that they were loved for in the original XFs (09 - 15). They're not bland and boring inside. They've become "just another car" whereas before they were 'Jaguar', they were 'special'. Even the sound systems got downgraded; Bowers & Wilkins traded down to the Meridian system 🤷. So yeah, XF S 2010 - 2015 ALL THE WAY!
