Jaguar XF-S Alexa Install

Hi Leon, just completed this install (although not brave enough to disassemble the car to the level you did). I did have one variation, instead of making a holder for the dot, I drilled some small holes in the inside circular rim of the top cover and used tiny bolts to hold the dot in place. My final challenge is the dot keeps rebooting, getting more and more frequent. I have a feeling the 12v USB converter is faulty so will change it out. Great videos, not many people doing XF maintenance out there! Thank you.

Top modification Amazon Echo was made for that. I just need to check mine now if there is no speaker under the grill panel.

I get Alexa on my mobile and with the aid of a Bluetooth adapter cable it plays through the car stereo. I just ask Alexa to play music, make phone calls etc, etc. Totally interactive.

This is excellent, I was looking for a way to make the entertainment system better and this looks perfect, I have the premium sound system so suspect that void has a speaker in it but ill find another place for it, top video!

A nice set up but more simple than that it’s connect Bluetooth to your iPhone and just use Siri

No 1- great video, No 2- when you took all the dash out it would have been easier to run both looms the same way. No 3, if my wifes name was Alexa and i said be Quiet it would BE FANTASTIC!

Could you not use the 12v socket next to the aux connection for the power thinking of doing this next weekend

Hey Leon, could you do a video on retrofitting the USB? My XF is the same color as yours BTW. I'd like to do the retrofit to usb but don't know what I need to buy off eBay to make it work. Been told the software needs upgrading via the obdII

I'll see if I can put one up. There are a few bits to buy but the brave bit is re-writing the car configuration file, which you have to.do.oitside of SDD. Even the dealers don't know/won't do it!

Hilton I'll be definitely anticipating this I just purchased an 09 prem and wanted to run my external HD to it via usb unfortunately someone hit it last week so I gotta wait to get it repaired so I'll be on stand by if he happen to find how or any info on how.

82ThaDon Really sorry to hear about your XF getting hurt. I would die if anything happened to mine with all the things I've done to it already and still have planned. Good luck, I hope you get it back soon.

A request was put in for Jaguar to retrofit the USB ports in my XF-s 2010 plate on its last service.. They said it could not be done as the loom was not present. That probably means that there's also no direct interface available between the USB port and the Stereo. ? I'm opting for one of those small USB port adaptor's that fit into the power ports, for charging mu phone, There's some pretty cool looking ones out there.
