I have a 2011 XKR which has the sport exhaust and yours without the exhaust gives a very similar sound to the XKR with the exhaust valves open. Don't get rid of it, they're awesome cars

Oh much I wished this one was the XKR. It's a great car, and has plenty of power...but XKR is so much cooler! I want to sell this one, and maybe down the road get an XKR and keep that one for a few years. They are definitely amazing cars and well undervalued in my opinion.

Reliability wise, is it worth it getting the SC on the XKR vs NA XK? Used to Adore the old Audi S5 with 4.2N/A but hearing there are plenty of potential problems with the carbon build up, I might have to resort with the XK model here...

I did this on my 2010 a year ago, not going back, I highly reccomend putting an X pipe in place of the resonator as well!

It honestly transforms the car! But, I have yet had enough free time to take into a shop to add resonators. Maybe within two weeks ill get it fully done and then make another video!

With those rubber mounts just spray WD40 on them and use a small crow bar. They’ll slide right off and back on.

Curious as to what the removal of the mufflers has done to torque and power. Many seem to believe that increased noise means better performance, but that isn't always the case.

I have a 2010 xkr and I had my shop do an electric exhaust cut off. Basically there’s actuators that fully adjust to stock exhaust to open exhaust and any setting in between. Touch of a button mounted under my steering column.

That's a valved exhaust, best type of exhaust to install. You have mostly quiet when needed, and open it up when you want excitement and more exhaust note!

When you do the pipes, have it mount the same as the muffler. New owner may not like the noise, nice as it is.

Straight pipe the whole thing from the headers with baffled tips and itll sound like a monster, trying to find out now if my mine is a 3 inch diameter pipe or 2.5 will keep ya updated

I have the same car, 5.0 N/A, same colour too, similar alloys and black boot plinth. I have a Powerflow back box which sounds even better IMHO basically because it gives a just as brutal noise but it's kinda more tuned if that makes sense? Mine has quad chrome tips which look amazing! Get the windows down and get yourself into an underground car park, it goes from an 8 to a 9.5! 😁😁😁 THE best sounding car I have ever owned. In Sport Dynamic mode even without using the paddles it is just addictive! 👍👍👍 Loved the video, did you do a follow up with the custom box fitted?

Muffler delete it self was very easy, took 15-20 minutes. Downside of doing just a muffler delete is that you have an empty spot where the muffler is. Sound is amazing. If you put pipes in place of the muffler, you will have drone without resonators. So make sure you put resonators, or be okay to live with some drone.

I absolutely love it when I daily drive it. I can spend a whole day running errands and not get tired being in it. Its comfortable, has plenty of power, and a lot of luxury goodies. I would definitely recommend it as a daily.

I agree with Sergey. I have a 2013 and it’s a great DD with no problems. Definitely a head turner. Be prepared to roll down windows and answer questions about the car at every red light lol

I actually have not heard any major issues with the 4.2 motor. I have had one Jaguar with the 4.2, spent a few months with it and had absolutely no issues with it. These cars are hard to come by, so if the price is great for your area then I would say buy it. I really enjoyed having this one and kind of miss it.

You couldn't see, but I had 1.5 ton jack stand right by the jack. I always raise the car with a jack, and let the weight of the car sit on jack stands and then support it with a jack. I have never had a jack fail on me, but that doesn't mean it will so jack stands are always a must. I really appreciate you reaching out, it's always a good reminder to be on the right track!

I did not have any issues with mine after the muffler delete. Only thing I would recommend is to get resonators when you install pipes in place of the muffler. Drone was noticeable and that's the only thing I would do differently.

No, the last sensor on the exhaust system is the downstream oxygen sensor. Removing a muffler will not cause the CEL to come on.

With just a muffler delete there is absolutely no drone. I had pipes installed this week, there is definitely drone. Too much for my liking. So you'll need resonators to get rid of that. I will be taking it back to the shop to have them install some resonators to get rid of the drone!

I fail to understand the idea that "pops and crackles" is a nice sound. Popping on deceleration is what's known in the racing world as "lean pop" and it means something is amiss with your tune. Otherwise this car sounds nice 👍

Well nothing is changed, but removing the muffler. No tune involved, so I don't think that would apply here. On race cars, that run tunes, I agree with you. But a simple muffler delete only opens up the sound. Pops and crackles were super faint with the muffler on, but they were there.

My 8/10 was a rating for the loudness of the exhaust note. This sounds like a solid 8 - to me (in comparison to the STOCK exhaust note, which I was clear about in the video), means I am talking about the SOUND not how much I like it. A 10/10 sound would be a straight piped exhaust from the headers alllllll the way back.
