Had my x150 as a daily for 7 years now. 180k miles and never misses a beat. Great videos brother.

At last, you've driven the right variant 🙂 I purchased my Heritage Edition (same colour as you tested) as an ex Jaguar VIP car back in 2011 and have enjoyed it ever since. Personally, I prefer the lack of wood in the Heritage Edition and the engine turned effect harks back to the original E-Type which this special edition was produced to celebrate. The paint, if you look close enough in the right light, is not black. It is actually a very very dark red called Black Cherry. In terms of performance, 385BHP is more than enough. Due to it's aluminium construction, the power-to-weight ratio is better than all the X100 variants and almost the same as the supercharged 4.2 It is also greater than the 4.2 Aston Vantage which has less power and weighs more. In modern traffic, and with all the speed cameras we have, it is incredibly rare to be able to use all the performance so I don't regret not getting a Supercharged X150. After all these years it is still a beautiful car that I really enjoy driving and cannot help but stop and look back after I've parked it somewhere.

Have a 2011 5.0L n.a. convertible. I waited a while as I wanted a low mileage car, 5.0L, and wanted the vertical side vent ...so 2011 is was for me. The 500bhp R version was just too much hp that I didn't need, that might try and kill me .....and had one more thing, a supercharger, that could go wrong. My daily is a Honda Civic, a great car, and my sports car had been an MGB. So the 385 bhp in the base XK is WAY more than enough for me.....but it's nice to know it's there. As for styling....car is like a bespoke sports jacket...I love it. For me it is the perfect blend in the Jag XK line up.

As an owner of a xk 2010 5.0 convertible I totally agree with your comments, press the buttons & stick it sport mode and it’s a monster. With everything turned down and cruising 26 mpg is easy achieved

Some Jag rivals matches coming soon too, from 4.2 vs 5.0 to XK vs F-Type

Well here in the States there is no such thing as too much horsepower so I'm on the Clarkson side. Having a car that is that nice with more horse power than a 2nd gen. Dodge viper is just... awesome. A 2010 Jag XKR is like Marvel's Mr. FIX It. (The Incredible Hulk in a business suit.)

Pretty cool car, and I honestly think that just a bit under 400 hp is more than enough for a relaxed cruise in a comfortable 4-seater.

Certainly feels right in this naturally aspirated application

What about the reliability of this engine ?? Wasn’t better the 4.2 V8 ??
