I love the cars and have no issue with them being run. But, the argument from SKL doesn’t hold water. Yes, it is positive to continue using the old rather than buy new - in terms of carbon footprint, if not employment - but that cannot mean that it is positive to carry on using a gas-guzzling car. In other words, the argument would be good to re-use but not to re-use items which are bad for the planet. It’s not an argument that I can sustain personally - but it does reinforce the idea that acting to minimise climate change is absolutely critical - unless it affects what my family do and make money from.
