You might have an XKR175 clone or something more rare than you think, bro. The 175 is the North American version of the XKR 75th Anniversary Edition, but the 175 designation was from the 175 made for the North American market and in keeping with tradition, they were all BLACK. Only Europe had options for white and maybe other colors. You need to run your VIN with Jaguar or reach out to me. I was told I was the second private owner behind Neiman Marcus to take delivery of an XKR175 in 2010 well before it was shown at Pebble Beach. I have put all 27k miles on it myself and loved every second. BTW… Best color choice on your XJ! Reach out. Let’s talk

Interesting. To clarify, more than 175 were made for the North American market; Canada received 15 of them as well. The XKR 175 is unfortunately a watered-down version of the XKR 75, produced for the UK market. These super rare XK's, are the predecessor to the XKR-S and received extensive suspension and engine tuning, ground effects, and racing stripes on the car's hips. The XKR 175 received the ground effects and was delimited to 174 MPH. I suspect someone decided that this particular car needed some separation from the normal XKR, as they do not come with a 175 badge, just the R badge like all XKRs. All the XKR 175s made for the North American market were black, akin to the grey all XKR 75s in the UK. Perhaps it had a paint change or it was a "built" XKR.

EJ one neat trick for getting access to the rear seats is the latch on the seat that captures the seatbelt is held with a magnet. Just pull the latch towards your and the seat belt retracts to the pillar. Makes vacuuming back there alot easier.

ahhhhh thank you very much for the tip Jack. I felt like I was about to get strangled when I tried to get into the back seat lol

great video, for whatever it is worth, i did see your facebook comment about your tire pressure monitoring system warning, it is a common issue, mine has been on forever even with new tire sensors, i wouldn’t stress it.

Thank you very much brother. It is going to be like my old Jaguar XJR and the ACS/ABS light that is on forever but the car is still running 🙏

I have a 175 also, and it sounds just like mine. I dont think it is an aftermarket exhaust. I look at the 175 as an XKR that is modified but by the engineers that designed the car. Many times a car is changed to improve cost but at the impact of performance. I see the 175 as the car that the engineers thought it should be. Definitely do the sport and dynamic mode together. It will seem like a completely different car. Congrats on the car.

It is actually an aftermarket exhaust, I just found that out from the Jaguar mechanic at the Tyson Corner Jaguar dealership.

I also have a XKR convertible, the exhaust you have is an aftermarket one not a stock unit.
@ejsgarage2 жыл бұрын
Oh ok, how can you tell that it is aftermarket?

@@ejsgarage your exhaust tips are a dead giveaway, ie too big. There should be 2 middle mufflers after the catalytic converters and the main rear muffler which has a valve to control the exhaust flow, ie noise. vaux-spares.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/17f82f742ffe127f42dca9de82fb58b1/1/2/1246-100321-170235027-PTIMG.jpg.jpg

Very Cool car, but the American 175 were all Ultimate Black. Post your manufacturing sticker on the driver’s side door jam. It should have your original paint and trim codes. It would be pretty easy to clone a 175 package, all you need is the speed pack and door sill plate that says 175. Either that, or yours was repainted. Manufacturing sticker would tell you.

Thank you very much. It was checked out and genuine 175.
@marcusryan70052 жыл бұрын
So an American 175 with original paint code PEL for ultimate black is on your sticker? Not trying to call anyone out, just trying to figure it out as an XKR enthusiast. If it came silver and labeled from the factory as 175, then you might have a one of one unicorn and the most rare Jaguar on the planet….

I have an XKR 5.0 with 510hp . So what the difference between xkr & 175 xkr please ??
@ejsgarage2 жыл бұрын
I think it is just the interior and the body kit. The regular XKR 5.0 has the same HP.
