Did you try the XK 4.2 before buying the XKR 4.2? Interested to get your view on the sensation differences between both.

Hi there. My uncle owns a late XK8 (X100) with the 4.2 298HP engine which should be the same as in the X150 4.2 and I bought a 4.2 X150 XK-R two years ago. In my opinion, the performance difference is huge. The engine is thanks to the supercharger even in low rpm very powerful.

I have a 2015 XKR and pissed they engineered the supercharger whine out of them after 2009, love hearing it on this one!!

I can only talk about the 4.2: keep the Battery alive to avoid gremlins (error messages in dashboard). One thing that could come is the pedestrian system. The sensors are sometimes a little bit buggy and throw an error... changing them is not cheap. The engine as well as the gearbox is really reliable.

@@socalsaint1903 if you mean "do" tell........ Fuse 19 can be removed to permanently open the active exhaust, which is operated by valves. You get a deeper and louder exhaust note at lower speeds. Google it, there's loads of info. Fuse 19 is in the fuse box between the rear seats (NOT the engine compartment).

true that wood was awful but apart from that is a killer. Colour , performance , take out fuse 19 and its louder , take it to a circuit and disable limiter and this is a 180 MPH monster out of 4.2 super v8 ALL FOR 12K private plate this beast and it looks under 5 years old , best fun ive had in years in a car
