I've just bought an XKR in black, with all round air suspension, a full Larini exhaust, and 647hp. Amazing machine.

@@coolkid123456100 Hi, I haven’t had to service mine yet at is was tip-top and up-to-date when I got it a year ago. I know as far as high-end cars go, though, that Jaguar are much less expensive to service than Aston Martin, Maserati, etc. I looked at DB9’s and Grandtourismo’s before the Jag and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve got a Portfolio. There’s one for sale at a really good price in the UK just now. On Autotrader...

Clarkson sold me, just got one 2008 4.2 Supercharged. quite simply the best car i have ever got stunning to look at and heart rate blows up on acceleration official figures are tame to what it really does, ever wonder why they are never seen on Autotrader or on the road maybe on a Sunday at the track.

They really are hidden gems. I think their low production numbers is the main reason you don't see them. When I got my '10 XKR five years ago, I remember thinking somewhere around mile three of the 750ish mile drive home that it was the car I always wanted but never knew it. Since then, I've done upper and lower pulleys, heat exchanger, IC pump, x pipe mid, tune, Porterfield R4S pads and cross drilled rotors all around, and have added a small coolant temp gauge and it only made the car better. You'd think more power would make it harder to drive, but if you can somehow restrain yourself enough to set pace with all the CUV's dicking about on the road, it's still about as threatening as a Camry. But the brutality that awaits at the touch of a few buttons and a twist of a knob (throw of a lever in your case)... the words to accurately describe it haven't been made up yet. You know what I mean, though. You're now part of a very small group of people that understand just how damn good these cars really are. Welcome, friend. Glad to have you here. Enjoy the ride. :)

Phototherapy, I've had my 2010 XKR for about 9 years and have done mostly the same modifications as you plus the speed pack body parts and a customized rear bumper/diffuser. I will pass 200,000 miles on her this month, I've tracked it many times, and it is the same extremely reliable daily driver as it has always been. Just the best automobile I've ever owned of among about 30 in 53 years of driving. Anyone who's owned one will sing the same praises.

@@tedgeldberg6498 we got an 08 xk, convinced dad to get it with me, it has about 104k miles, dad seems stressed about the reliability potentially being bad, but as far as i’ve seen they aren’t very bad. what kind of issues have you had going up to 200k?
@life_of_riley882 жыл бұрын
@@h7pubg You'll be fine. My 07 XKR Coupe has 71k on it. The things to watch are suspension bushings, they don't wear out, but on our older models, the rubber just ages out and cracks. Ball joint boots as well. The only other major thing to watch/replace at some point is the coolant hose that runs under the supercharger. Also change the supercharger oil, very easy to do on the 4.2 cars.

I think the Jag looks good in red. I think the colour suits it. The Jag makes a very good noise and it goes very well, but, the noise of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was just spine-tingling. I love that harsh and aggressive snarling sound.

XKR's were sold to the public without a limited slip diff, but as far as I can see for Clarkson to be able to do powerslides like that, ie spinning both back wheels, there's no way that car hasn't got one.

car and driver review 2001 Jaguar XKR this is why it wins: Forget, for a moment, the 370-horsepower, 4.0-liter supercharged V-8 under its hood. Put aside thoughts of its Computer Active Technology Suspension or how quiet it is at cruise or whether the warranty stretches beyond the term of the second mortgage it'll take to buy it. Instead, just look at Jaguar's XKR. It's sex on wheels! A lot sexier than the naturally aspirated XK8 upon which it's based and not sexy in a vulgar, lecherous, strip-club-near-the-airport sort of way, either. But Elizabeth Hurley-wearing- Versace-at-the-Oscars sexy: provocative, confident, not at all trashy, with an upper-class British accent.

I had one 10 years ago , that was the nicest car ever , i miss it a lot , i don not understand why they stopped building it and the Ftype is not a all a successor , but i will not buy one again as time is over in generally for those cars . Government in EU makes it more and more unattraktiv to buy such a car . Green Party everywhere is convinced they will save the planet and punish the people with CO2 tax . Avoid CO2 is the biggest marketing strategy ever . With this strategy they can control the peoples around the world. But not with me , then i drive with my bicycle . Then government get neither CO2 tax nor general car tax from me . That is my revenge !!!
