It's 1:54 am in the morning and getting a clear concept about Jahn Teller distortion has become "a dream come true thing" to me. Thankyou for your efforts. Your English is pretty good and easy to understand. Please post more.

t2g orbital isn't much JT sensitive compare to eg orbital so d5 low spin do not show JT

d^4 high spin should show z-in distortion (compression). For HS all the four electrons won't occupy dxz and dyz orbitals. Sir, pls clarify it.

I like the way you present this beatiful concept, no paper on your hand, if we can have more people to do it in this way, then our education will be much easier. Thank you sir that was really great.

For d4 low spin, wouldn't two electrons get filled in dxy and two in dyz, while dxz remains empty due to pairing? Because, you showed that xy has 2, yz has 1 and xz has 1. Would it still be considered asymmetrical?

How will I come to know that in which condition eg filling will take place and in which condition t2g filling will take place? I'm asking because while doing that ques.(regarding distotion) u told that in this eg filling will take place and that t2g filling will take place just by looking at the coordination compund
@nidhakhan76086 жыл бұрын
sir a ques came in my mind u say that whenever the electron is present in the t2g orbital the dynamic distortion takes place n whenever the electron is present in eg orbital the statics distortiin takes place ....Is this mean when z out takes place the statics distortion occur n when z in takes place the dynamic distortion takes place......might b it is a stupid ques bt i have prblm to analyse the ques that why i put out this ques .....

Hello sir, for a d4 high spin complex, are you referring to the entire metal complex or only high spin in the t2g orbitals. Meaning 3 electrons in the t2g and 1 in the eg OR all 4 in the t2g orbitals? If they are all in they are all in the t2g orbitals, isn't it a low spin complex? Thank you sir

Sir why in d4 all the elctron occupy dxz and dyz? In t2g splitting energy is very less so firstly we fill the single elctrons and then we do the pairing.so there should be 3 elctrons in dxz and dyz and 1 elctron in dxy. Is this wrong?

Sir, I think filling of d4 high spin complex is wrong. In Z out case you filled it as low Spin. All electrons paired even if empty orbitals were available .Please check 25 min to 25.5 minute of ur lecture
@soulfulguitar23496 жыл бұрын
Sourav Sahu +.yes u r correct..filling of d4 high spin complex is wrong....
@seetaramkori37456 жыл бұрын
I also think d4 high spin should take place like like this.... Z-out. 1dxz 1dyz 1 dxy then 1dxz. So energy = 3(-1/3)+1(2/3)= -1/3 Z-in .1dxy then 1dxz 1dyz then 1dxy So energy=2(-2/3)+2(1/3)=-2/3 -2/3 < -1/3 So compression will take place

@spiritualbeing87016 жыл бұрын
Actually John teller is takes place in higher amount when eg orbitals unsymmetrically filled right ,but it is quite low when t2g orbitals are unsymmetrically filled .so it is present in d5 low spin but distortion is very low .
