The makers never asked the permission from the lady. She didn't even know such a film on her husband was made. This was done to avoid having to pay royalty. The producer (also the lead actor) together with the State Chief Minister paid a trust in the name of the tribe 10 million rupees. Such a trust was found to be not even properly registered. All the people who helped the lady in real life belonged to the upper castes. In the movie, the same caste is vilified in the characterisation of the villain.
