Keyword there is VISITED. As a Vegas native, I can assure you that the cops often overstep boundaries. My 72yo mother (with NO criminal history whatsoever) was on her daily walk and since she's hypoglycemic, she carries snacks with her in her tote bag. She was feeling dizzy so she quickly crossed the street where there was a bench she could sit down at to eat the banana she had in her tote bag. Right then, a cop car aggressively pulled up, lights flashing siren on. They said she was being detained for jaywalking. She explained that she just needed to sit down and eat her banana because shes hypoglycemic. They refused her the banana and because she supposedly handed her ID over "with attitude" they put her in handcuffs, and proceeded to search her entire tote bag, as if she was some crackhead with drugs. She help telling them she did not consent to searches and just reached her banana. But instead, they called paramedics and told her she could either go with them or be arrested for jaywalking and for being argumentative (whatever that means)!!! THEN instead of taking her to UMC hospital down the street (the hospital that contracts with the police dept) she was taken 25- miles away to a random private hospital on the edge of town. Hospital discharged her 10 min after arrival, once she finally was able to eat her banana. . . I couldn't believe it when I got a call from the hospital asking if I could come pick her up! This is actually very normal behavior of LVMPD (not all of them of course! There are many very brave honorable officers. But unfortunately this type of unnecessary harassment is far too common. Ive experienced it myself😞)

Stevie is a VERY sweet girl! I’ve known her since high school and two years prior to this we were roommates with another girl. Stevie didn’t move here from some where else she grew up here and she grew up with a mother who was in this life also. It really upset me to see Stevie on here because she was doing so well two years prior I know what lead to her getting here which is no ones business but people forget that these people know people who see this and it breaks our hearts.
