I just want to say THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! I’m a visual learner, so I appreciate all the extra time and effort you give to make video tutorials. Also, for always providing such detailed information! You go above and beyond by actually teaching not only HOW to make adjustments, but also WHY you might need to, instead of just showing us how you did it. That takes so much time and effort on your end, and you share all of your incredible patterns and knowledge for free! I truly appreciate everything you’ve taught me💕

Just bought my first Tunisian hook today so I'm very excited to try this! It's a double ended hook but has cord between the ends like circular knitting needles if that makes sense? Don't see why it wouldn't work

@@ModeBespoke mhmm! I did a few practice swatches and my only issue is that the hooks are kind of rough. They're wooden and not coated in anything so it's a bit hard to slide the yarn across. Otherwise no issues!

It’s worked in the round with a double-ended hook. You cast on with one end of the hook, and close the return pass with the other end. You can, but you’d have to crochet it as a flat fabric then sew it round. Technically you can crochet the row, join it to the other end and then work a return pass, but you’ll end up with a visible seam on one side of the sweater. If you don’t have a double-ended hook, there are other sweater patterns you can crochet. Here are some other TC tutorials that use a corded hook : The Gentleman’s Sweater kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnvLqoKLoslonpo The Knit Stitch Cardigan kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpzPdHuiabGijM0 Kai’s Cardigan kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZywaomjnJeAfa8 Chunky Sweater kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIebq2yJj9qEodU V-Neck Sweater kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqCxqHmNhNWSp9k

hey i have a question, do you calculate at the beginning always minus 16 or minus the number that comes out when you divide by 5?
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 9 ай бұрын
Hey 👋 I chained 80 stitches for a chain length of 19”. Divide the number of stitches by 5: 80/5 = 16 You divide by 5 as the standard number used when calculating raglan sections: 2 sleeves, 1 back section, and 2 front sections. Though we are crocheting a closed-front sweater (and like me, you might be tempted to divide by 4), we still use 5 as our divisor, in order to generate a more accurate stitch count for a well fit sweater. Next, divide your total stitch count by 2: 80/2 = 40 This helps us better gauge the stitch count for the front and back sides of the raglan. Subtract your quotients: 40-16 = 24 This gives you the total number of stitches you need for the front and back sides of the raglan.
@majaa053
@majaa053 9 ай бұрын
okay ill make an example to be sure, so when you chained 60, you divide 60/5=12, then 60/2=30 and lastly 30-12, right? sorry for asking :)

I have tunisaian crochet hooks that have the long plastic extension. If I use that can I just use one hook, working a complete round before doing the return pass?

Is there a way I could succeed in making it with different colours? (stripes?)
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke Жыл бұрын
Yes, just pick a spot where you want to switch colors (I’d pick a stitch under the arm), then decide if you are switching the cast on, the return pass, or both. Switching both gives you a full color stripe, but switching just the cast on or return pass will give you a nice gradient-ish stripe.

This is great! I'm new to Tunisian crochet, but have been crocheting for about 7 years now. It's one of my favorite pastimes and I'm excited to try this style. Question for you: I bought interchangeable crochet hooks and wonder if I could make this sweater using them rather than the double-ended style. I saw where you start to pull back through from the opposite end, is that possible with interchangeable hooks? I suppose I could attach another crochet hook at the end of the cord and work it out that way. Is it possible to pull the yarn through without the second crochet hook and just work with the one hook and cord? I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance!
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Welcome to the amazing and addictive world of Tunisian crochet 😊 It made sense. You will need double-ended hooks for this pattern, as it’s worked in the round. So yes, adding a hook to both ends will be just fine (no need to buy new hooks).

How exciting! That’s precisely the point of this channel, so thank you for sharing! Of that yarn in particular, about 4 skeins (doubled-up, two for the CO and two for the RP). I had 6 on hand, just in case. Did you see the tutorial I posted about calculating yarn? I’ll link it below. It might help 🤷🏻‍♀️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/apauXomim555oNk

You can, but you’ll have to sew the sides, or make it open in the front. I have a tutorial for an open front raglan that uses a single-sided hook. Maybe that will help? Part 1: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZywaomjnJeAfa8 Part 2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpzPdHuiabGijA

This is amazing, my first sweater project that I won't have to knit! About how long would you say it takes you to work up an adult size?? I'm on week two of this project, but i work full time and haven't been able to make solid progress every day. 🧶
@ModeBespoke
@ModeBespoke 10 ай бұрын
Thank you! That depends on several favors: the size/weight of your yarn and hook, how quickly you crochet, and how long you can devote to it each day. It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month or longer. For example: I’ve been working on a sweater pattern since November. I’m not even a quarter of the way through.
