Ashima has natural talent and is on the good track but Jain worked hard for many years and is still the most graceful climber. Thanks for the nice video.

Ashima has been training and working hard since she was a child. I feel chalking it up to “natural talent” dismisses the fact she worked very hard. It’s moreso that they have different climbing styles

Jain Kim has more experience and it shows but I’m also certain Ashima will just get better as time passes.

Regardless of the national rivalry between Japan and Korea, please notice the American flag on Ashima Shiraishi.

Kim is better still, she barely have wasted movements, just deadly efficiency. She’s like a robot

I love Ashima trousers, always so colourful. Kim is the most elegant climber out there. Watching her climbing is amazing. Ashima has an incredible talent and her style is really unique.

Ashima said she was very nervous during the climb. She obviously didn't climb the most efficient way. She has great climbing abilities which sometime might make her think either ways work while one way is actually better than the other. Also I think the style of competition routes might be different from the outdoor climbs she's most used to. With time she'll gain more comp experience, stop being nervous, and really climb her best!

Ashima is used to using her flexibility as a junior climber, but she'll need to learn how to use her new height to an advantage. Jain definitely climbs more efficiently.

Experience usually wins over raw talent. However, raw talent has the ability to achieve greater heights as experience is gained.

there's no such thing as talent, they both display skills acquired by training
@swish1onu
@swish1onu 3 жыл бұрын
@@raiemie7365 ... someone who is born athletic.. has natural raw talent. Not everyone has the raw talent to be an athlete.. whoever told you there is no such thing as talent is severely misinformed. Do you have something that youre naturally good at? Some can sing... and if developed can become PROFESSIONAL singers... others dont have the raw talent.... and may learn to be decent... but not achieve the same levels as those more TALENTED (gifted)...

@@swish1onu define natural talent in this case. it's some bullshit, all top athletes anywhere train hard, much harder than the average person can even comprehend. saying someone is naturally talented while saying someone else is a hard worker is impugning the latter in a subtle and sneaky way.

rock climbing is still new enough and not yet popular enough for the field to get much depth. that means there will be standouts every once in a while in an overall inferior field relative to other more established sports, but the biggest difference will always be time spent training. anybody who has actually competed knows this. unless you get a much bigger field of talent, like with the most popular sports, you don't get any messi's. any high level competition has inherently already weeded out the "un-talented." the best players on the field are 99.99999% of the time the hardest working, the ones who dedicate themselves to a level that others will call fanatic and often unhealthy. unless you're willing to say this girl is somehow a true generational talent in a very new sport, that this nascent sport somehow got lucky with its greatest athlete in the first generation. all sports are full of young athletes who were supposed to be the next great thing and ended up burning out. that is more often the case than not. i'm not saying that this girl is like that, i'm saying that talent isn't some easily defined gene that only a select few get. it's easy for non-athletes and non-competitors to think that the top athletes are naturally gifted and they put them on a superhuman pedestal.
@swish1onu
@swish1onu 3 жыл бұрын
@@jp-sn6si ... you dont believe in natural talent? Explain how there are virtuoso child performers? Natural talent... ever hear of perfect pitch? Thats a genetic gift... why are the majority of band geeks not athletes? The fact i have to explain this to you tells me you know NOTHING about genetics... Obviously training ia necessary.. that goes without saying. If a genetically gifted athlete does not train or devote time to their craft, their talents are wasted.

It was really unlike Ashima to cut her feet loose when she doesn't need to - at the end of her finals climb? I'm sure the route was pretty taxing and form suffered consequently.

Nicolás Montoza I think Ashima like putting up high foot for heelhooking, but Kim using instead some foothold underneath, which seems better idea, because it needs less body- and armstrength.
