Janja Garnbret has such an ortodox aproach and Ashima Shiraishi is so erratic, they both are probably the best and is really nice to see that next negerations would further develop the sport beyond what we ever imagined. But i really feel that with time Ashima Shiraishi will become the greather that ever lived, i only hope that she becomes wiser each day.

Janja was a little better on this climb with more natural moves. Ashima didn't clipped before the last dyno... They are both amazing anyway ! It is wonderful to have such young and gifted female climbers. The crown will be shared between those two in the coming years and the competition will be fierce.

Ashima was a bit longer on the wall... her endurance is incredible...but (just as a viewer--I'm not a climber) .. I can't help but think the slower speed might cost, even with the endurance.
@sallylee49246 жыл бұрын
+ Richard Fredlund I've noticed that Ashima chalks up a lot. Like way more than most climbers. She seems to reach for chalk whenever she's not 100% sure of a move. I've seen videos where she chalks up between several consecutive holds. She might be chalking up unnecessarily, and this contributes to her being slower.

Janja is so clean and axactly. Ashima is amazingly good, but Janjas Move seems like she knows exactly how their where intended. I don´t think she personal knows it, but her body. Edit: the Same with Ondra. It´s fluent, precise und strong.
@cheowweikoay26012 жыл бұрын
I think both are very skillful. Janja is 10cm longer.
@thecrimsonking1872 жыл бұрын
@@cheowweikoay2601 I wouldn't necessarily say that being small is a big disadvantage in bouldering. Some boulders are much harder when you are tall. And a friend of mine who is relatively small can actually boulder anything in our hall. And yes, both are really skillful, but Janja is still number 1 for me and also with a certain distance.
@cheowweikoay26012 жыл бұрын
@@thecrimsonking187 agree. Ashima and many other smaller ladies have definitely proved your point. Talking about this one specifically which costed Ashima another 1 min -if you notice which part. Also, with shorter reach, it's even more important to know what to do fluently, precisely and strongly. Nothing against Janja, clearly incomparable. Would think Ashima would do even better if she has the same height but .... No way to prove it. Thanks for the response!

From a professional sports point of view, Janja is a significantly better climbing in the world cups, it’s quite apparent. More experience and stronger
@NickLiang3 жыл бұрын
@@matthieuschmitter6676 No its not like comparing a feather weight to middle weight, those are weight classes in boxing and they do not compete with each other under any circumstances. In climbing there is no such thing. They are competing on an even playing field and Janja is significantly better. In terms of wingspan, there are many climber's in the worlds cups with greater wing span than Janja, but she still completely blows them out of the water. It is obviously her strength, technique and mindset which brings her superior to other competitors. Jain Kim is a short climber with a more limited wing span, but she is consistently and top performing athlete.
