What actions did the Forsaken undertake to earn being rejected wholesale by people they used to know and care for prior to their conversion to undead? The Alliance has been making its own enemies since winning the Second War. They left themselves vulnerable to the Scourge and left their 'allies' to fend for themselves and wonder why those former allies choose a different side meanwhile saying the retaliation for disloyalty was something undeserved by the 'Alliance'. The current Horde was made a necessity because of these things. Or dis we conveniently forget Admiral Daelin Proudmoore's unprovoked assault against the new nation of Durotar, an 'Ally' of his daughter that helped save the World at Hyjal?

If you think about it, this started way back when the Night Elves were an empire and their mages decided to make a pact with Sargeras and summon him. And while that may be before the Alliance was formed, the Night Elves don't have any problems declaring themselves Alliance. So without the Night Elves, we wouldn't get the Orcish Horde invading.

The problem with the writing is that for the Alliance and Horde to have actual an war, there needs to be actors on both sides that spur on the conflict. But most of the characters they have written are heroes, and heroes are passive characters that only respond to conflict, they don't create it. On the Horde you had a few characters with enough motive, like Garrosh and Sylvanas. They weren't perfectly written, but they were still good enough to instigate conflict. Jaina however was always the character that reached out for compromise, so making her the aggressor was a complete flip of her personality. Likewise, they made Varian the peacemaker, despite him being the gladiator/slave in the Horde with plenty of motive to attack the Horde. You know what would've made the writing go hard? If Thrall had been captured in the Battle for the Undercity, and setup for a public execution. But Jaina would've saved her old friend in the last minute, and gotten labeled a traitor. Factions breaking out in the Alliance as arguments fly about blind alliance to a king (Tyrande and the Night Elves never having sworn allegiance to the king, and also having issue executing her former allies that saved the world tree), and factions breaking out in the Horde as Garrosh goes ahead and bombs Theramore as Alliance swarms the city. That would've been real "Warcraft." A lengthy conflict spanning many expansions with no clear resolution in sight.

The purge of Dalaran is one of those in-game moments that had a severe impact on Jaines character arc and was mentioned a lot later - but ingame it was actually just a small questline within the Pandaria story arc - and actually at the time just a side note while Horde and Allaince where smashing each others heads on the shores of Pandaria. But what this video dosnt really mention is this: Jaina, who was the head of the Kirin Tor at this moment in the story, had declared Dalaran neutral ground. But it were elements of the horde associated members of the Kirin Tor who smuggled the divine bell through Dalaran into the hands of the Blood elves. And when Jaina confronted the leader of the sunreavers about it, he stupidly taunted her instead of offering help. Oh, yeah, and somehow Varian was for this one instance the peace loving leader of the Alliance and not the men we met just a few months earlier in the intro of Pandaria. In the end it didnt really matter anyway. Technically Dalaran was under Allaince control during Warlords, but the city did not play any role in the story. And come Legion - and Khadgar had Jainas decision overruled by the Kirin Tor council and returned the city back to neutral status.

Blizzard should have the Scarlet Crusade around. In long-term war stories, sometimes you need one side to go overboard without condemning everyone. They could have done this and kept Jaina's character in tact.

What? That acts were because of war. And you're including the old Horde. See the facts that the Alliance has driven so many races into the Horde: Forsaken > Sylvanas wanted to negotiate with Stormwind. Her diplomat was killed by the alliance. Bloodelfs > Garithos bigotry against Kael'thas as he saw them as lesser race and kicked them out of the alliance and wanted to kill them. The Horde later offered them protection and safety. Goblins > Alliance ships attacked a neutral Goblin vessel, because they were Goblins. They got saved by the Horde. Zandalari > Invasion of their homeland... Needs no more words Nightborne > The Alliance don't want mana addicted... So yeah! The Alliance is a racist faction full of prejudice and bigotry.

Say what you will about hypocrisy of Jaina, but put yourself in her shoes. She welcomed Sunreavers into the Kirin Tor, trusted them as a Kirin To, and they used that rust to move the Mana Bomb to blow up Theramore and steal the Divine Bell. Yes, the Iris was moved through Kirin Tor as well. Twice have Sunreavers betrayed Jaina. Jaina sacrificed much for the truce if not peace between horde and alliance. She let the Horde kill her father. The Horde cannot stand long without a conflict while the Alliance tried many times to diffuse the tensions. -Horde attacks Stormwind -Horde attacks Lordearon -Horde attacks Theramore -Horde attacks Teldrassil -Horde attacks Gilneas -Alliance attacks Orgrimar 2x That is literally the only time in WoW history that Alliance actually attacks a Horde City both times, to punish the Horde, and still found it within them to not destroy the city. Which can't be said about the Horde who destroys everything they invade. The surface of Lordearon is obliterated, the undercroft is there only because the undead liches had t built to resemble a Necrohub like Naxxramass.

You forgot that the Alliance actually attacked the Undercity in Wrath (this is no longer in game) and again at the start of BFA, in retaliation for Teldrassil. The Alliance also unnecessarily attacked the (then) still neutral city of Zul’Dazar in BFA and murdered their king, resulting in the Trolls officially joining the Horde for retribution.

The original Horde were the invading orcs under the influence of the demons. The original Alliance of lorderon was made in response to the invasion. Both of those were dissolved and recreated after Warcraft 3 to survive in the post burning legion/scourge Azeroth.

What's wrong with taking Human for your race in MMOs or RPGs in general? It's one of ways to enjoy fantasy worlds. For me, it even adds in a nice element to fantasy, like, I'm just lone human traveler who's visiting this magical place full of elves, orcs and even walking dead and trying to deal with calamities of the world during a day and enjoying my mug of beer in tavern during a night. You can enjoy a fantasy world and still be human, that's why it's a fantasy.

Aethas is an interesting character, his torn loyalties werent properly explored, but he definitively shares fault for not stepping up when he needed to instead of playing dumb, which was in character since he was lacking experience and lorthemar feared as such, lorthemar told rommath he feared a scenario in which conflicting loyalties would test him, he also got humbled by the entire shebang which is why reparations were made on legion, THIS makes horde fanboys seethe but it only makes aethas a more interesting character, that and that swell time a succubus stripped him nekkid. The purge of dalaran is truly a grey scenario, jaina is caught between a rock and a hard place, excuse the sunreavers and let possible hidden operatives cause more damage and death? or flush them all out and eliminate the threat?
