Jaishankar’s G7 Googly | Will Mamata Resign? | The News9 Plus Show

Shortly after his visit to Germany, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar dismissed arguments that BRICS is unnecessary, and said he was amazed by the insecurity felt by developed nations about the group, which includes China, Russia, and six other countries.
Jaishankar,while speaking at the Global Centre for Security Policy in Switzerland's Geneva, said if the G7 can exist alongside the G20, there is no reason why BRICS cannot.
Jaishankar questioned why there is opposition to BRICS, especially when groups like the G7 continue to exist alongside the G20.
Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden will host the fourth in-person Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, on September 21, the White House has announced. The summit will bring together Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan.
The upcoming summit will focus on strengthening strategic alignment among the four nations and advancing a shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

Will Mamata Resign
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee has announced that she is ready to resign over the standoff with doctors shortly after a meeting with junior doctors was scuttled. The doctors were invited to the state secretariat for a meeting on Thursday but wanted a live telecast of the meeting. The Chief Minister assured the doctors that no action will be taken against them and that the government was willing for a dialogue process.
The protesting junior doctors have blamed the administration for its rigidity in not allowing live streaming of the meeting for transparency.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose launched an attack against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee calling her 'Lady Macbeth of Bengal', saying he would "socially boycott" her. Bose said he would no longer share any public platform with Banerjee, citing the outrage over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar hospital in Kolkata.
The BJP has dubbed Mamata Bannerjee’s statement as mere drama.
