The Military is not a stokvel to admit ex offenders. The same reason you won't feel right being protected by a police officer who has a criminal past is the reason you cannot appoint a military officer with a criminal past. There are many other fields of work you can introduce ex offenders to. Open up farms, textile, wood processing factories etc and employ them there. Far away from violence and the power that a gun brings.

G4S has government contracts with Correctional services, this was highlighted from during the Thabo Beaster saga. So he's right, crime is big business for the private sector though not for the government agencies. The governing party has been complicit in the Black man's demise, they spent too much time making the middle class happy instead of repairing and redressing the fundamental issues stemming from apartheid and prior to that colonisation. I wish this guy the best, I really do. I'm feeling a little heart broken after listening to this. Thanks for this interview.
