4:35 ironically, Ketchup comes from a Malay/Indonesian word, "Kechap" (meaning any type of Sauce). So it's funny or maybe appropriate they dont call the tomato one just "Sauce".
@Arnold_X32 жыл бұрын
Also the English word "Compound" comes from the Malay word for village (Kampung) and Amok, as in "Running Amok" - also from Malay (same meaning).

5:30 that statue is called ondel-ondel, they're actually Betawi (Jakarta native) dolls. If Yogyakarta/Central Java has wayang (puppet) kulit made from animal skins, West Java has wayang golek (made from wood), than Jakarta has Ondel-ondel, a giant doll..

Always take a proper meal downtown before leaving for the airport, only eat at airport restaurants when on layover, otherwise only for coffee & dessert which are usually fine. I wonder why you didn't explore more of Indonesian provinces/islands or at least the Borneo main island, where there is also Malaysian side of Sabah/Sarawak + Brunei ?! 🤔
@TravelingSoloLogs2 жыл бұрын

You only explored Indonesia for a while and hopefully one day you can explore more interesting places in Indonesia, friends 🙏
@alexlee27652 жыл бұрын
Many Indonesians wonder why many foreign youtubers only spend a few weeks there but up to 3 months in Malaysia and other Asean countries because they only get 30 days visa (at usd35) in your country instead of 90 days (no visa fee) elsewhere. If Indonesia wants to attract more family travels and long stay guests (not just digital nomads in Bali) they should drop the visa fees and give up to 90 days visa for developed countries.
@maksumzaifudin58592 жыл бұрын
@@alexlee2765 Okay I understand now, but I don't want to talk about visas because I still agree with the current visa rules in Indonesia. Thanks for the information friend. 🙏
