I bought an older gray model at a garage sale for $10. Works great. When I was working at a yard building medical modulars, a crew of 6 of us would cook lunch every day on it. Preheat it 15 min before lunch. Steaks, chicken, bratwurst, and baked beans in an 8x8 baking pan. With a little creativity we were even making breakfast burritos on it. I'll tell ya, it beat going out for lunch every day.

I liked mine and used it in the screened patio. The grease catcher was flimsy and occasioned to dump grease on the floor. Cleanup was not "just a paper towel". Taking it apart for a thorough cleaning was a challenge that many, per Walmart reviews, we incapable of doing. Bottom line, get a stove top pan and save a bunch of money and aggravation.
@iimasahm64385 жыл бұрын
Well my experience was almost identical to CWJ's, including the easy cleanup with just paper towels. The average number of towels I use for each cleanup is about 4 1/2 towels, since we use the select-a-size towels. I got use to cleaning these George Foreman grills with just paper towels while they were still slightly warm and continued doing it with the indoor/outdoor. Easy setup, easy cooking, easy cleanup - easy peasy!!

The cooking spray will slowly degrade the non stick coating every time you use it. It's best to avoid using non stick stray on non stick items. Use a little oil instead.
@ohdogwow27 жыл бұрын
I bought one of those add your own oil pump sprayers. I think mine is the Misto brand. They are great.
@chatomairi7 жыл бұрын
I believe it's more of the amount of over sprayer that's being put on the surface. It's putting a lot of little drops everywhere especially where food isn't cooking. The over spray will get extremely hot and burn into the coating causing it to mess up over time. Nonstick surfaces are sensitive to high heat.

Crazy question but does it give you a bbq taste? I have the regular George Forman grill that you sit on the counter and plug in, then you let the top down and the food cooks between the two grillers. Does the food taste similar to that? Part of grilling or bbq is to have the smokey taste. May be I’m missing that it’s actually a difference in grilling and bbq

Joey Yearian ok thank you. After really thinking about it, I was thinking of course this wouldn’t give the Smokey bbq taste, the charcoal and smoke is what gives us that flavor. But I’ve heard about the liquid smoke, I’ve actually heard some bbq restaurants use it also to enhance their flavors. I will have to try it, but not so much. I think I also heard it can pack a punch lol!

How did it come out? I’m very tempted to purchase one. Just want to see if it comes out at least as close to gas/charcoal grills.

I cannot lie to you and say it was better than charcoal but at the same time the George Foreman grill was an excellent alternative, at least for the chickens thighs that I grilled. At the same time I decided to end up grilling my rib eyes on my old cast iron pan because I always love grilling steaks on it. Another reason why I only grilled chickens on the George Foreman and Steaks on the Cast Iron pan is because I bought a lot of chickens and wanted to grill all of my meat for less time. I highly recommend the George Foreman if you live in an apartment that prohibits you to use charcoal BBQs.
