I may be wrong, but I think others have done the initial window framing with steel, and welded any seams to keep from leaking.

Well if someone welded the seams where the different containers meet they did a horrible job for it to be leaking so much. I don't remember if anyone had done any welding on the seams after the containers were put in place.🤔

They are off grid but world isnt ....could be that power lines go around their property ...but off grid doesnt mean you must be in middle of nowhere ...you can be offgrid next to city if laws allow ....in my country i can be off grid in middle of our city for example ....
