Salma Zahraoui dont mistake the below fact: Not before Gosling, then again I gotta feeling he will get it 2019 for his portrayal of Neil Armstrong in, “First Man”. As I started don’t mistake the above fact, Jake deserved to be nominated this year, and go head to head with Gary Oldman....you’re telling me Denzel played better than Jake in “Stronger”? This young kid Timothy Chlamet, in “CMBYN” gets a nomination and not Jake? That’s BS, and the academy is becoming BS. I was going to stop watching them all together, but then I watched the nomination announcement live and saw that “Blade Runner 2049” got 5 noms, and finally Roger Deakins (the best cinematographer of all time) won for cinematography... but Jake not getting a nomination = The biggest snub since “The Dark Knight” not getting a best picture nominee. Ironic...his sister Maggie is in Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Jeez, I thought “Nightcrawler” was a performance... “Stronger” is Jake’s best performance of all time and it’s a fuckin shame that the academy nor the Golden Globes (Hollywood Foreign Press. who vote) gave him what he deserves. A golden statue with his name under “Best Actor in a Leading Role”. Smh 🤦🏼‍♂️

I will always love Jake Gyllenhaal, he seems so down to earth and of course a phenomenal actor in each of his roles. And also Rachel is such a great interviewer, you can see how genuine she is in expressing her thoughts / admiration on Jake’s work.

This has only just appeared on my Recommendations, and it's one of the best JG interviews. It's interesting to hear about his preparation and the small touches which add to the characters. I like the table set-up too: even though it's in front of an audience, it still feels comfy and intimate (host Rachael's body language helps). I melted when Jake complimented his sister!
